Today after school I ditched everyone and wanted to go find my parents house. Although I did have memories of the house I just had no clue where it was.
I took off the blue crystal necklace and held it in my hands. I let the power flow through my body, it made it to my brain and eyes. I could feel it and there was a line of blue energy, like a guide to get there. When I stopped it, the line disappeared.
I genuinely wanted to know how all this worked.
I used my superspeed and followed the blue energy line to a secluded forest. It gave me the same vibe as when I saw Black Swan at the lake where it all started.
But the thing was, there wasn't a house in sight. I kept walking and the blue crystal glowed brightly and it did something to my surroundings. Almost like a barrier had disappeared in front of my own eyes.
A house, small, looked perfect for three stood in front of me. There was a beautiful crystal blue lake where a waterfall met it.
This small place was gorgeous and was hidden to the outside world. It was mine now, my own little world.
The energy here was amazing and I knelt down and felt the grass.
"Leah, that's grass, except it's from your home planet, Delorn. Delorn was so beautiful, you can almost feel every part of it huh? Wonderful that we could take a part of our home and make it a home for you," My dad was sitting on the ground letting me explore our yard.
I snapped out of the memory and felt the grass. He was right. I could feel the sharpness and the energy out of it.
Like Delorians everything from Delorn was pure energy.
I walked over to the lake feeling the water. It was crisp in my fingertips and it moved up my arm revealing my alien markings.
A memory floated back into my mind, my dad was swimming in the lake and my mom was holding me in her lap.
You could clearly see my dad's marking form where I was. My mom picked me up and she stood in the water and her markings showed. My dad swam back over to us and he shook my little arm making my markings appear. He flicked water on us.
"Dad's silly isn't he," my mom said as she glared up to dad.
I put the blue crystal necklace back on and I opened the front door. It was clean, I mean besides the dust on the tables and dust everywhere else. But it's still a clean house.
It was small even on the inside. Pictures of my parents lined the walls and I even saw pictures of Aunt Luna, Uncle Link, and my parents all together in pictures. Mia was even in some pictures alongside Elora. There was another person in the photo who I assumed to be Dominic, my dad's friend.
All I knew is that they had a falling out. Him and Uncle Liam, my actual dad, were all friends. I wondered what happened. Now knowing who I am I was even more curious.
The kitchen was small and there was a high chair sitting in the corner. The kitchen was spotless, all the cups, bowls, plates, and silverware were neatly put away. The sink was empty.
It set even more in that they were truly gone by the fact that you could tell no one was here anymore. What was once a happy home was now empty.
My home, what was supposed to be my actual home, was empty.
The living room was the same, a couch and a small recliner. Baby toys were neatly packed into a small container bin off to the side. I looked through all the vhs tapes or dvds they had. They were mostly old movies they watched with kid stuff. Like the old barbie movies or Disney movies.
Down the hall there was my old room, it was a baby blue shade like everything else. The baby crib was still there along with my baby blanket.
When I was a baby, not with them but I couldn't form an attachment to any baby blanket they had or an animal they gave me.
Hayden always talked about how I had no interest in what they had. But I loved this baby blue blanket.
I could remember why, the blanket was from my home planet. It had much more meaning, my mom tore up a blanket they had and made it into one for me. The thread in it was woven on Delorn.
I loved this thing, I couldn't sleep if it wasn't in the crib. It made sense now why I couldn't form an attachment, I was attached to this and I would never have it again.
On the wall was an incomplete mural of what looked like a beautiful city. I didn't have many memories of it, just that I remember my mom was painting it. She never told me what it was.
I let my hand touch the paint, I wanted to get varnish so it wouldn't get ruined. Something my mom had created, I wanted to be able to preserve and keep alive.
My parents' room was bigger, there was a walk-in closet filled with dresses, and formal attire probably from Delorn that was sent here with them. Their room was bare compared to the rest of the house.
There was a large picture of my family. I wasn't there yet but my mom was holding Asher. But Liam and Lily were with their siblings.
Hayden and Landon being the oldest kids looked about 10 in the photos and Victoria looked to be around 7 when it was taken.
Aunt Lily had a child in her hands next to Uncle Sam. Uncle Landon and Aunt Ella had their children next to them.
My parents were in the back without any children with them. It made me think back to what Hayden said, my mom did want a child, I just don't think she wanted to bring me into this world.
It was sad and I left their room and the last part was the basement where there was a whole lot of technology. Books lined the walls and some were scattered everywhere in the room.
A lot was history about other planets and some were categorized about Delorn and other things. I felt very overwhelmed with everything presented down here.
There was a main console and I flipped a switch and everything came online.
Buttons flickered on and off until everything suddenly crashed. Smacked the machine to see if that would do anything and nothing happened.
It hasn't been used in about 17 years and it was one of those things where it needed to be used.
I took a mental note to try and fix this later, which might be useful to have. Who knows what was on this thing anyways.
There wasn't much left in the house so I went back upstairs and looked at my phone for the first time since I had been here. Mom had texted me wondering where I was and when I was getting home. I knew by the text she wanted me home asap.
I was almost pretty sure it was family dinner tonight as it had to be this Friday instead.
Dinner was ready and I was running late. I shut the front door and went back out the way I came. Once I left the perimeters the house became invisible again like it wasn't there.
I wondered if there was a book in that basement that might explain why and how that all worked.
