Coming home this time was worse than the first. It was a screaming match and my head was pounding and I couldn't take it.
Asher did send me with some medicine home when he dropped me off. He explained that human medicine wouldn't work on me anymore and to take these every four hours for pain.
I just nodded my head to everything and I walked up to my room. I don't think any of them bought the whole I'm sick excuse and honestly I wouldn't either.
I probably lost all my friends at this point. I laid in my bed carefully with my new matching wound.
Fucking hell.
I must be the stupidest fucking person alive.
Nothing about this was easy. I want to tell my best friend that saving the city and people has to be more important. That I was being tortured while they were laughing and it was all my choices to make. I chose my path and it was wrong and I wanted to go back in time.
And that I led a fucking villain into our lives and that she is the reason I am like this.
I could've gone on living and never known.
Now I wanted to be Leah Legend more than Leah North. But both versions sucked. Both weak and even Atlas said it.
I was getting ready to turn off my light when Asher bursted into my room.
"What the actual fuck is wrong with you?" He whispered and screamed at me at the same time.
I held my side and sat up, "Just lay off Asher. I got my share of being yelled at," I said trying not to be in pain. Whatever Atlas had given me was slowly wearing off and I was going to have to take more.
"No what you have been is a fucking awful sister, daughter and friend! I don't know what's going on with you but you are so selfish. Becca fucking cried because you left. She knew it was bullshit too."
"Ok Asher. I really don't want to fight right now-"
"I don't give a shit, you don't even care!"
"I do!"
"You don't. You've always been a bitch," he slammed the door again.
If it meant saving the city and people to lose everything, then I planned on doing it.
I slid underneath the covers and tried to drown out Asher and my parents screaming at each other about me.
~~~
I got out of the house before anyone would talk to me and I decided to just go to the safe house? My safe house? Which was my real parents' house? I didn't really know what to call it.
I was grounded big time but I needed to fix up my wound and see what I had available there to use to take to school.
I searched through cabinets and eventually found a medicine cabinet. I looked at the bottles and labels of what it would do. I could only assume it would be safe and I grabbed some cream that is kind of their version of neosporin. I applied it to my stitches and put a bandage over it. I didn't want to run the risk of it being open and exposed while I was at school.
When I did get to school my friends were all in a group and I steered away from them.
Odessa had taken my place. She was standing with everyone and Asher had his arm around her.
Bitch.
My powers were just aching to throw her against the wall.
A hand krept over my shoulder, "Don't think about it."
Atlas.
His power washed over my body and I could sense him clearly now. He really wasn't kidding.
"I wasn't going to," I defended.
He hummed playfully, "Oh but you were aching to. I felt all your power without you even using it. How do you deal with all that power?"
I shrugged and his hand pulled me close to him. He was still keeping up our act. I slid my arm over his waist leaning into him, "Sometimes it's hard. I don't really know." I turned to look at him, he looked like he didn't get any sleep. He had really dark eye bags and he looked paler than normal. "You look like hell."
"So do you."
"I was stabbed," I countered.
"I had to deal with your ass." He pointed at Odessa, "Oh and isn't she just fitting in so well."
"I've heard she does that," I smiled looking up at him.
He smirked, "Where did you hear that from?"
"Someone... who is very wise..."
"Wise? Interesting. Do tell me more of this someone," he pulled me close again and we started to walk.
"No way am I feeding into a prince's ego," I shook my head.
"Oh but it is so good for the prince. Speaking of the prince he has a question for the princess," He twisted me into a supply closet.
I fell into him and he caught me. My eyes instantly turned blue without warning and his eyes were gold.
"You know I'm actually the Queen? I'm not a princess," I whispered.
He leaned in, "Is that true?"
"Yes," I leaned in closer.
He came closer to my ear, "Will you go to prom outfit shopping with me your highness?"
I smiled as his breath hit my ear, "It would be my pleasure, your highness."
His hands wrapped around my waist and my breath hitched at his touch. His lips made kisses across my neck up to my lips. Before I knew it he was tightening his grip and my hands made it to his hair and his tongue was in my mouth.
His hands were emitting power and my hands felt on fire. I felt so consumed and this was so different from other kisses. All the girls and guys couldn't amount to this.
The only thing it was missing was... something. Deep down I knew Atlas wasn't the one. Something in me was telling me no. But I wanted, needed his touch right now I just kept it going.
He finally released his grip and his power left my body, "Not bad Legend."
Atlas made his leave and I was left in the closet like I was two years ago. The past 24 hours have been so fucking weird.
