Chapter 5

Dancing With Moosie

Tessa POV

The music is blaring loud as all of us do the new choreography to the song we picked for The Streets. The song ends and everyone is catching their breath. Then Moose jumps up out of his final pose and starts twerking.

"Oh my god," I try to say but I couldn't stop laughing at his antics.

"Maybe we should put you back in that Grandma suit, huh?" Caleb teases Moose.

Moose stops twerking and jokingly pushes Caleb.

"Who's we," Fly asked laughing.

Caleb pushes Moose back and starts twerking to mock Moose. Moose then start twerking with him and the whole crew laughs.

We all walk out of MSA talking and laughing with each other and we all stop laughing when we see Sophie, who was Chase's ex-girlfriend standing there.

"What are you guys doing?" She questioned.

"Hi, Sophie what's up?" Chase asked her trying to avoid the question.

"Rehearsing for the fundraiser. Why are you here on a Saturday?"

"We were going to do the same thing but it's locked."

"Oh, well we gotta roll so we'll see y'all," Missy speaks up taking the crew minus Andie and Chase away.

"Where are we going?" Moose asks Missy, looking confused.

He looks adorable when he's confused.

"To my house," Missy answers. "My family's having a barbecue remember?"

"Yeah yeah, the barbecue." Smiles remembered.

I grab Moose's hand and follow Missy along with the rest of our crew except Andie and Chase because they stay behind to talk to Sophie.

"I could feel the tension between those three," Moose says to me.

"Same, Sophie looked so jealous seeing Andie and Chase being all buddy-buddy." I look at Moose. "You ready to dance the night away?"

"What do you mean? I thought it was just a barbecue."

"You'll see," I smile at him.

"Okay, I trust you," Moose admits and looks down at me.

We keep walking with Missy leading the way and I had a realization.

I am still holding his hand. He hasn't pulled away yet.

We arrive at Missy's backyard with me and Moose still holding hands.

"Look how nice it is," Moose speak with awe in his voice.

"I know, I love going to their family barbecues."

"Hurry up y'all are taking mad long," Missy says to the crew. "Hey, mom." She waves to her.

Missy's mom walks over to us and gives me and Andie a hug.

"We missed you," Missy's mom says. "Everyone is here come on." Missy's mom starts leading the group around the backyard.

Missy pulls me and Andie back. "Wait, you two are coming with me." She leads us back into her house and up to her bedroom.

Missy tells Andie to try on a dress in the bathroom and pulls me to her closet.

"I think this one will look good on you," Missy gives me a casual, knee-length, red, flowing dress and puts it in my hand.
