Chapter 22

The Video

A few days later we had everyone in the Cha Cha Palace and we had a little reunion.

"The beautiful lady and the Moose," Marco, one of the twins, said walking over to me and Moose.

"The Santiago twins," Moose and I say in unison and give both of them a hug.

Then Kido, Violet, Monster, Hair, Gauge, and Vladd walked in and I gave them all hugs.

After the hugs, Chad dances around us and tells his partner to keep up the good work.

Everyone looked at Chad oddly for a couple of seconds.

"That's Chad everybody." Sean introduces. "He teaches here."

Chad lets go of his dance partner and walks over to us.

"What's up," he says to Violet and she rolls her eyes.

"What's up," Chad turns his head to Sean and says.

"Smooth, are we still saying that?" Violet teases Chad.

I let out a small laugh and Chad whips his head at me.

"Yo, so we're gonna be training here. Ana and Boris already gave us the 'all clear'.We'll try to stay outta your way. Cool?" Sean tells Chad.

"Cool," Chad says and walks away weirdly.

Then Moose calls for our attention.

"All right, all right. Thank you all for coming out.."

"Yeah, everybody knows why they're here. This isn't just another competition," Sean starts. "We win this thing and we'll get our own show for three years."

The group lets out a cheer at that.

"That means quitting our day job and dancing full time. The first round of Vortex is a video submission." Sean finishes.

"That's right. We got some really cool ideas. I work at a lab and my boss is out of town for conferences next week, and if we work fast, we can shoot the video there while he's gone," Moose explains.

"Only the best of the best get in. So we need to give them a show," Sean says.

"So let's get to work and put our heads in the same place. Yeah?" Andie encourages.

"Alright let's do it," I shout.

"Yeah, then if we rehearse every single day, I don't think that will be a problem," Sean says with a little attitude.

Sean stop talking.

"No, it wouldn't be," Andie turns and looks at him. "But we need to think and breathe as a unit."

"Yeah, so let's get to work," I say encouragingly.

"Thinking and breathing? No need to dance. We're gonna dance," Sean tells Andie.

"Well, obviously we're gonna dance. Why else would we be here?" Andie asks sarcastically.

"She has a point," I say. "Now let's get started."

"So," Violet says. "Just to be clear, if we're gonna be a crew, who's gonna be in charge?"

"I am," both Sean and Andie say at the exact same time. Then they both turn and look at each other oddly.

Oh god. Here we go.

Moose along with the twins try to hold in their laughter.

Me, Moose, Andie, and Sean break off from the group to put together some choreography.

Andie has an idea and starts doing it.
