━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

the purple haired boy stared at himself in his bathroom mirror.

'they look darker than before..' he leaned in closer to the mirror, staring at his reflection. the bags under his eyes were only continuing to grow worse by the day.

ever since he's been training under aizawa, he felt his body slowing down. he hasn't had to do so much vigorous work, it was exhausting. and it didn't help that he was already diagnosed with insomnia.

usually, he'd go to (m/n) when he was tired past the point of normality, but he was busy with his own things. shinso couldn't go and worry him because he couldn't sleep. what was he, a baby? absolutely not.

so, he ignored the dark spots under his eyes and the small tremble in his body as he made his way to class.

it probably wasn't the best idea. he had to take care of himself if he wanted to be a pro hero. but, if getting only a wink of sleep was going to bother him, how could he prove everyone wrong? he needed to be strong.

he wish he were like (m/n). it was a miracle to even meet that boy. (m/n) was.. strange. very quiet, he rarely spoke. but his expressions said it all. the way he would smile happily when he ate his favorite food, or his eyes would droop when he was denied of something.

shinso could read him like a book. maybe that was why they were so close. (m/n) appreciated being around someone who understood him so well. and shinso liked the comfort (m/n)'s silence gave.

anyways, shinso did his best to stay focused throughout the day. he tried his hardest to ignore the need to fall to the ground at any moment, but as lunch slowly approached, his body was going to shut down on his own. and, he'd rather spare the embarrassment.

so, now in the bathroom, he stared deeply into his own eyes through the reflection.

"it hasn't been this bad in a long time.." he murmured to himself. he looked off to the side in though before staring at himself once more. "you know what to do..?"

his words slurred at the end, and he fell quiet. yes, he had just brainwashed himself. it was a weird concept that he found he could do a while ago, and only used it when... well, he felt like shit.

his body moved on it's own, walking out of the bathroom and towards the class of 1-A. he looked like a zombie, passing other students that looked at him in fright. his eyes were fogged over and his mouth hung open slightly.

(m/n) had actually been clearing his desk off to head to the cafeteria with his classmates. despite his quiet behavior, many people seemed to enjoy being around him.

"ah, (m/n)-kun!" midoriya rushed over to his side, a happy smile on his face iida and uraraka trailed behind him. "are you ready to go to the cafeteria? if you're even going to eat with us, of course! i- i'm not saying it like you have to, i know you have other friends and—"

(m/n) held his hand up, stopping the greenette's rambling. he then gave a sheepish smile and slowly nodded. the three seemed to understand what he meant and midoriya calmed himself.

he held his boxed lunch in his hands, beginning to exit the classroom. he did not expect to see his close friend, shinso hitoshi, standing in front of his doorway. especially during lunchtime.

"sh-shinso?!" midoriya shouted in question. "what're you doing here?"

the boy didn't answer, which worried (m/n). was he okay??

midoriya had shifted uncomfortable when he got no response. "ahhh.... shinso-kun..?"

(m/n) looked closer to shinso's face, taking a moment before gasping quietly. oh man, he should've noticed sooner. glazed-over eyes, weird stance, the pale skin and dark eyebags...

(m/n) quickly turned and handed his lunch to midoriya, who grabbed it with question. "(m/n)-kun-?"

he was cut off by something that surprised everyone left in the classroom. the (h/c) haired male had turned and slapped shinso on his cheek. hard.

"(m/n)!! what are you doing!?" iida shouted in shock. nobody would've expected for this boy to randomly hit another for no apparent reason. well, it wasn't apparent to them.

(m/n) ignored them, watching as shinso slowly came out of the shock of his own brainwashing. "(m/n)..?"

the boy nodded his head, and shinso allowed himself to drop into his friends arms.

"i'm so fucking tired, (m/n). i can't even stand without shaking. i'm sorry, i really didn't want to bother you..." the tired boy mumbled into the other's shoulder.

(m/n) quietly nodded. he turned to take his lunch back from midoriya, give a sympathetic smile before throwing shinso over his shoulder and walking out of the room.

"uhhh..." the brunette female finally spoke. "what just happened?"

"i.. i'm not too sure."

despite the protests from shinso, the two boys were now in the dormitories. in (m/n), to be more specific. he shared his boxed lunch with the boy before lying in his bed with him.

"sorry, you're probably going to get in trouble because of me. i'll tell mr. aizawa why you were out for the day—"

(m/n) ruffled shinso's hair while shaking his own head. shinso was such a worrywart..

shinso sighed. "sorry.. agh, i can't stop saying sorry, but i'm really sorry. this is weird, you shouldn't have to nurse me like this but—"

he was silenced by the feeling of (soft/rough) lips being pressed against his nose. shinso stared at (m/n) while he looked off to the side.

"don't worry so much," his voice came out in a whisper. "it's fine. so, sleep."

hearing his voice always made him shiver. it was strangely nice hearing his (deep/smooth/soft/etc.) voice, especially since it was such a rare occasion.

shinso hoped what he received from (m/n) was special treatment. he wanted to be the only one held in his arms, and to feel his lips and hear his voice. only him.

shinso's cheeks flared from the thoughts and he shut his eyes. "thank you, (m/n)."

he received a hum in response. and that was enough.
