[name] was a big man. he had a strong build, and an intimidating aura. many around his campus knew him as 'big boy' or 'brick wall' or simply 'big.' so, for short, he was called 'b.' he wasn't sure if he should be insulted or flattered, so he simply ignored it.
though many took in mind his larger-than-average build, others' minds were focused on the person who was by his side— akaashi. he was much different than [name]. he was on the short side, and was very approachable. he had a soft feeling to him, and made everyone around him feel comfortable.
maybe that was why they were both so drawn to each other. opposites attract, after all. neither of them talked as much as they did when they were with each other. it was confusing to fellow classmates at first, but they found it rather endearing after some time.
seeing as [name] basically lived alone, with his father being out of the house almost 24/7, akaashi would come home with him almost every night and they would spend time together like any lovey-dovey couple. it would be reasonable if anyone mistook them as spouses in the honeymoon phase. except, it would be a phase. this is how they planned to live their lives for as long as they lived.
the happy thoughts buzzed around [name]'s head as he waited for akaashi at home. there were times when it was far too late for him to stay out with his boyfriend, much rather being in the comfort of his home so he could prepare their food. those times were saddening to him, but akaashi had to finish his practices. plus, they would see each other later.
speaking of which, he could hear the front door unlocking now. just in time; he had just finished dinner. "welcome back, keiji..!" he called out, taking his last moments to finish their plates. he had turned around with the dishes in his hands, almost dropping them to see the terrible state of his boyfriend. "keiji! w- what—!?"
"dont ask," he muttered, tossing his keys onto the counter. he used his bloody shirt to wipe of excess blood off of his face, then tugging it off his body entirely. "i know you'll be upset with me."
"well," he glanced to the side uneasily, "i already know about all of this..."
yes, this was a common occurrence. some days, akaashi would come to [name], his body a wreck and a glum look on his face. it was... a bad habit of his. their first encounter of it was completely incidental. but, [name] could look back the horrid flaw and love him all the same. that was normal, wasn't it?
"... but you look terrible today! look at your face.." he set aside the plates, cupping akaashi's face softly to check on the growing bruise on his cheek. "who was it?"
"... you're gonna be mad at me."
"i won't. you know i could never." not this deep into their relationship. if he was gonna be disgusted with the behavior, he should've been so from the beginning.
the brunette looked off to the side, fumbling with the stained jersey in his hands. "... remember lev haiba?"
"lev!?" his eyes widened. "did you go all the way to nekoma!?"
"no, they were in the area. came for a practice match," akaashi muttered. "he was saying weird things, and i heard your name so... i'm sorry."
"shit..." not only was it a problem that he had killed someone from another school, but it had been one of his close friends as well. it hurt, it really did. "damn it, keiji. you know how hard it is to cover up stuff like that.."
"i know. i understand if you throw me in."
words like that also stung. he also really cared for akaashi, despite his inability to keep his anger to himself. he never made it easy for [name]. the bigger male sighed, taking the shirt from his lover. "get changed, and take a shower. i'll tend your wounds when you get out."
akaashi nodded, looking up to his boyfriend. he pressed a kiss to his cheek before departing to the bathroom. god, the things he did for that guy. it got exhausting, but what could he do? with another sigh, he went to prepare the laundry.
little did he know, keiji was holding back a small chuckle as he went to wash off. oh, how easy this was...
