Scott McCall had thought that his day was going to get better and better after everything that had happened the night before, which was quite a terror as finding the other half of a dead body, getting bit by a supposed-to-not-exist wolf and almost getting hit by a van isn't an exciting experience.
Oh, boy, he couldn't be more wrong.
It all started when he was in the thick woods of Beacon Hills with his best friend, Stiles Stillinski. Stiles was helping him in search of his inhaler that he had lost in the midst of panic on the night prior. He was just checking through a pile of dry leaves when lo and behold, he suddenly found himself falling from the sky.
Wait, what the h*ll?
As the gears in his brain finished turning and the situation finally registered in his brain, a manly scream erupted from his throat.
"Scott!" The call of his name had caused him to instinctively swallow a lungful of air, which successfully muffled his scream. He took a deep breath to calm himself, as calm as one can be when facing this kind of situation.
As he managed to more or less did so, he quickly turned his head towards the voice, only to find Stiles also in the same predicament as he is. What truly weirded him out was the fact that his best friend was calm, too calm, which was weird as Stiles and the word 'calm' doesn't really fit in together.
"Stiles?" He didn't know why he asked the obvious question.
Stiles gave him a deadpan look which screamed Seriously? "No, I'm Miguel- Of course I'm Stiles!" He exclaimed while flailing his arm around, an act that almost mimics a flying bird. The difference was that this bird had injured one of its wings and was plummeting fast towards the hard ground that hadn't been seen yet.
That sparked the question of how high they actually were.
The passing thought was pushed aside for a moment as Scott cast his best friend a sheepish grin. It didn't take long for his mind to snap back towards their current position. He fidgeted nervously in the air while simultaneously trying to ignore the strong wind slamming against his face.
"Um, Stiles, is this-?" He didn't even get to finish his question on whether what he's experiencing right now is a dream or not before Stiles suddenly pinched his arm with a bit more force that necessary.
He yelped before instinctively pulling his arm towards his chest. "Afraid not, buddy." Stiles answered with a shrug.
Scott stared at the spot where he was previously pinched. The pain that he just felt was real, meaning that this, whatever is happening right now, is definitely not a dream. His eyes widened a fraction. It's real.
He was falling, and the chance of even surviving seemed pretty slim. If he kept on doing nothing, then he was going to fall to his death. The thought of leaving his mom alone only serves to increase his already increasing panic.
Scott shot Stiles a look for his out-of-character behaviour. "How are you so calm?!" He had to raise his voice so that his words could be heard over the rushing wind.
Stiles seemed to pause at his question for a few moments before his eyes flashed with the all-too-familiar panic. "Sh*t! We're going to die!" He shouted as the realization finally dawned onto him. "Dad's going to kill me if I die!" He started flapping his arms at both of his sides in hopes that the action could slow his already fast falling. It didn't.
