(Honestly, at this point writing is probably the only thing keeping me alive :')

(Either way, a little side note for this chapter, the only reason it's called Family Feud is that it explains the whole General Lee and General Grant situation from Family Feud and why it was, in fact, a family feud.)

General pushed the barn door open slowly, letting his headlights illuminate what he thought to be an empty building. However, as the door swung open, the beam from General's headlights hit a flash of baby blue in Christine's space. Suspicious, General rolled forward, straining to see around Christine's plywood wall. As he drew close, that flash of baby blue soon turned into a large chunk and from it emerged a body.

General jumped backward, startled, and not quite believing it at first. However, the car simply looked at him and revved his engine.

"General! Man, am I glad to see you!" Grant exclaimed.

General backed away from him, slightly confused but even more angered. "Glad to see me? You tried to kill me! You were a total asshole!"

Grant nodded. "That was before I learned the truth, and I am proud to call you not only a friend but brother!"

"Brother?" General repeated, a hint of offense in his tone.

Grant nodded again. "Uh huh, look, look, look!" He disappeared behind Christine's wall again and emerged balancing a plaque with a photograph tacked to it between his bull bar and hood. "Brand new Chrysler plant, the very first two cars manufactured there."

General looked at the black and white photo, which showed two black Dodge Chargers sitting side by side. Their glossy bodies reflected the high sun in a brilliant flash of white against the camera.

Grant made a noise as if to clear his throat. "We were too young to remember, but I think this could give us a fresh start, figure out more about ourselves. I mean, I do think it is a strange coincidence--"

"Why?" General asked, cutting him off. "Why did you come back? Why does this matter to you?"

Grant grew quiet, sheepish. "Look, I... I know what I did probably can't be easily forgiven, but I have to admit, I felt different when I was around you, like there was some kind of connection. Impound gave me a different outlook on life, and I want to better myself."

"How do I know this isn't just one of your tricks?"

Grant shook himself. "You don't, you're just going to have to trust me."

General cast a longing glance at Christine's space where a collage of pictures of General posing in the winner's circle at races and pictures taken of the two of them hung on the wall. He knew Christine would have advised against it and suggested that they have Thunder put him to the test, however, neither of them were there with him, so what choice did he have?

"Alright, you can stay," General rumbled.

Grant revved his engine joyously and exclaimed, "Yes!"

"On one condition," General said sternly. "You stay here in the barn until further notice, and don't touch any of our stuff, you got that?"

Grant gave him an enthusiastic nod.

"Ain't nobody in this county gonna be too thrilled to see you back here, me included."

"Is there any chance I could see your mechanic friend?"

"No, why?"

"Well, since our fight and after they tried to put me back together in Impound, let's just say that my engine is, well, I guess as you would say being held together by spit, duct tape, and chicken wire."
