Delilah helped Andy get stuff ready for the trip. She snuck a picture of the two of them in Paris in his pocket. He looked at her meaningfully.
"Just, a little piece of me so you remember part of who you're fighting for." Delilah answered his look. Andy pulled her to him in a tight hug.
"See you tomorrow." He whispered to her. She nodded in his arms.

"Hey. Be careful, all right? I wish I could be there." Delilah said after having walked up to Marcos.
"Yeah, I'll miss you, too." Marcos chuckled at her.
"Look, De, we got this. And you're needed here. We'll be okay. I'll take care of your boyfriend."
"All right, and I'll take care of your baby mama." Delilah smirked before skipping over to Andy, who wrapped an arm around her waist. Delilah glanced back at Marcos who looked like he'd seen a ghost.

"Stuff's all loaded. Are we ready?" Marcos asked as he snapped out of it.
"Andy, stay close to your dad." Caitlin warned.
"Not like I have a choice. We're gonna be stuck inside that truck. See ya." Andy went to let go of Delilah but he only got one step ahead of her before she dragged him back and kissed him roughly. They pulled away after a minute.
"See you tomorrow." She muttered against his lips.
"Tomorrow." He said back.

Delilah watched the car as it drove off. She sighed as she watched but luckily, John came up beside her.
"Ready to redecorate?" he asked sarcastically. She groaned and threw his arm off.
"No but I'm going anyway."

Delilah ended up just watching John move around concrete to make a barrier. They learned quickly that they are far too playful. One mutant who can levitate anything and another mutant who's indestructible. They had a concrete fight. John resorted to having Delilah supervise.

So, there she was sitting on some steps, ranting about her relationship.
"Ya know, I should make more friends. Hanging out with my dad doesn't make me very cool."
"I think it's very cool." John teased.
"That's because you're the dad. Maybe a little to the left." Delilah suggested for the concrete.
"I knew you'd say something." John sassed and rolled his eyes as he kept the concrete how it was.
"So, you never told me, how did your conversation go with Clarice?" John came to sit next to her.
"She left. So I'd say not well. It's about par for the course these days."
"If you're talking about Pulse, that wasn't your fault." Delilah assured.
"How do you figure that? I left him. I let Sentinel Services take him."
"You thought he was dead. You couldn't have checked that either, not unless you wanted to die too."
"I was wrong. I should've saved him. I'm starting to think that maybe the X-Men made a mistake... choosing me to be part of the underground."
"John, you can't think that way. I know you want to live up to who your father was, but you're doing all you can. You've saved so many people."
"It's not enough. We have more refugees in there than we can possibly save. I can barely protect a bunch of veterans."
"You were chosen for a reason."
"The X-Men said a war is coming. They didn't say we'd win." John pointed out negatively.
"Ya know someone once told me that a single individual who has the right heart and the right mind that is consumed with one purpose, that single individual can win a war."
"You really think we'll win?"
"The price of freedom is high, it always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I have to die for it, then so be it."
"You shouldn't think about dying so soon Delilah. I told you I'll make sure you live."
"At what cost? Your life? That I won't allow. Too many people are relying on you. Besides, before I met you, death was the only thing I craved."
"You're one of those people, Lily. Don't deny that you rely on me. I notice you waiting for me to get back from runs."
"I won't. I just want you to know that what you're doing isn't for nothing."
"Even if people die?"
"We gotta save as many people as we can, sometimes that doesn't mean everybody. If you can't find a way to live with that, maybe nobody gets saved. Either way, this is the road you paved, you can always change the way it goes."
