"So let me get this straight, I go to Mexico to, ya know, do my job and somehow you lose one mutant and gain another?-Hello by the way-who we don't even know? To lose Lorna for-what's your name?" A blue haired girl asked.
"Uh it's Clarice." The purple hair and vibrant green eyes girl answered.
"I'm Delilah-To lose Lorna for Clarice, someone who just broke out of a detention center." The blue haired girl continued.
"It wasn't on purpose. I got shot and it all happened so fast." Marcos looked down in regret.
"I don't understand why we don't just use me to get her out. I could be in and out with her in a second." Delilah offered.
"We can't risk your safety Lil." Sonia said softly.
"We all know I could-"
"Just, no kid." John shook his head.
"Kid? I'm not a kid. What kid do you know that's been as tortured and terrorized as I have? I can fight for Lorna."
"We know you can. It's not a matter of power, it's a matter of risk. If we risk you, and things go wrong facing at least a hundred sentinel service agents, we'll lose headquarters too. And it's protector."
John walked up to her, seeing her distress.
"Calm down. We'll find her." John escorted Delilah out of the room.

He took her to her own room on the highest stable floor away from everyone. When she first arrived she had nightmares and so to prevent her from waking anyone, they put her room away from the group. Delilah sat on her bed and took a deep breath.
"If only I was there..." John came and sat next to her. He put a solid arm around her.
"I asked you not to come. To take care of the transport where you were needed. She's okay and she won't be away for long." She looked up at him.
"Can we play UNO?" John scoffed and grimaced.
"You always win." He protested.
"But you can't deny it's fun." She smiled at him. He couldn't refuse her and went to get the cards.

About an hour later, John needed to leave for some leadership stuff. While Delilah was like a leader, leading missions, helping people, John thought she was too young to hold that much of a burden. She was already their last resort, should anything happen to headquarters. Mainly, John just didn't want the blame going on her if things fell apart.

Delilah was walking in the hallways when she heard a distant conversation. She had taken Johns ability a long time ago. She adopted it in way he hadn't figured out yet. She heard something interesting so she decided to listen in.

"My name is Reed Strucker. My family needs help getting across the border. You and the people you work with, you do that, right?" Who the hell would be talking with a prosecutor?
"Maybe." Marcos?
"Did you hear about the mutant incident? At the high school? Those were my kids." Oh, this is interesting.
"I'm sorry, I can't..."
"I'm a prosecutor with the city. I was involved with building a case against you and your associates for the district attorney's office." Isn't that like kinda blackmail?
"And you're calling me for help? Now, why should I lift a finger for you?"
"Because I can help you... your, uh, your associate...Lorna Dane... goes by Polaris." This son of a-
"What do you know about Lorna?"
"You want to help her? You can talk to me. You know about her medical situation?" Medical what?
"What are you talking about? What medical situation?"
"You gonna help my family?"
"What are you talking about?"
"I want a meeting."
"Yes. Fine. I'll meet you... just...tell me."
"She's pregnant."
