I knew it probably wasn't smart for the demigods to tell us what they'd secretly figured out. It could threaten their whole quest. They used hand gestures as they spoke, showing all of their nervous energy,
It was intelligent how they realized the things they'd figured out about Gaea had related to the prophecies they'd recieved. They told us all of the prophecy lines they'd learned of.
Everything that was happening....it happened so slowly, but at the same time, it seemed so fast. We were living in fright. We couldn't have normal lives.
For a moment, I thought of what it would be like to be muggle. No witch blood in me. No godly blood. Just muggle.
Chiron and Reyna had cut off the Iris-Message. The Ares and Apollo campers were fighting again, and apparently, the roof of the Ares cabin was on fire.
"It's barely December," Frank said. "That should leave us plenty of time until August, right?"
Harry shook his head. "You don't understand. Voldemort will keep sending his people after us. Gaea will send her monsters. Besides..." he looked at us and stopped.
I wanted him to keep going. Explain to them the mission Dumbledore gave us. Tell them. They need to know. Dumbledore even said they'd be essential to our quest somehow.
"And we need to figure out a way to stop Gaea's minions from coming from Tartarus," Annabeth said. "Find a way to close the Doors of Death from Tartarus."
Nico shifted. "I've been to Tartarus. It's...it's every person's worst nightmare. You wouldn't last long. One of you, you'd be dead within minutes. Two or three, you've got an hour. Four or five, maybe you'll reach the Doors and then Gaea's people will kill you. You'd only survive with all seven of you. And we can't risk that."
"Hate to break it to ya," Leo said, tinkering with a bronze device, "but we're the most powerful demigods since, like, a long time. We're some serious booty-kicking machines who bust some sick monster heads."
"That's not exactly how I'd put it," Hazel said, "but yes. Leo's right, for once. I never thought I'd say it, but Leo's right."
"Yeah," Jason said. "I''d agree with Hazel. We're powerful, even one of us. Just in the seven of us, we have three children each of the Big Three."
"The Big Three?" Hermione looked up from her sandwhich. "What's that?"
"Jupiter, Pluto, and Neptune. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon, in Greek," Frank said. "The eldest Olympian gods, the Three Sons of Kronos. Since they're the most Almighty or whatever, their kids are really powerful."
"Didn't you say they made some sort of oath?" I asked. "And that's why their kids are so powerful?"
Percy nodded. "They swore not to have any children with mortals. Nico and Hazel are children of Hades, or Pluto. But they're from a different time era, so Hades didn't actually break the oath. Zeus did first, with Thalia. Then Poseidon, with me. And then Zeus, as Jupiter, again, with Jason."
"What about your brother Tyson?" Ron said. "He's the Cyclopes, the one with one eye, right?"
Percy nodded. Piper stepped in, "Poseidon technically didn't break the oath with Tyson. The oath was not to have children with mortals. You can only get a Cyclopes from a god and a nymph."
"Oh."
"Anyway," Nico said, "it's far too risky. If we send more than one of the Big Three's children down to Tartarus with another group—which I don't reccomend—the monsters will find you easily. Especially giants, and you can't kill them in Tartarus. If we have two or more remaining here, the monsters still will find us easily."
