Ginny
Halloween night was magnificent. I'd forgotten about the Horcruxes, the Greek traitor in our school, everything.
Hermione and I were helping each other get ready. I was a pixie, or a fairy, whatever you want to call it. My dress was blue and hung in layers to my knees. I wore silver sandles that wrapped around my ankles. I had blue wings. My hair was pinned up in ringlets with a flower crown.
Hermione did my makeup. Around my eyes was sparkly eyeshadow and a pattern of silver gems. I had nude lipgloss and mascara, and that was it.
As for her, she was a character from our childhood stories—Red Rider. The demigods would've called her Little Red Riding Hood.
She had a long white dress with a dark corset, and white sandles. Her hood was red and brushed against the floor. Her cat Crookshanks sat unhappily in a basket. Hermione's hair was in curls framing her face, and she wore mascara and red lipstick.
When we were finished, we waited in the Gryffindor common room. The demigod girls came out first.
Piper was dressed as a black cat. She had kitty ears, a black nose, and whiskers painted on her face. She looked annoyed. Her costume was a black suit with a tail. Her choppy hair was in little braids.
"One day," she said, "I'm going to kill my mother."
"Oh, shut up, you look beautiful," Thalia said. The Huntress was dressed in a silver Robin Hood costume, her bow and arrows just like his, and her circlet serving as a hat.
Hazel was a panda bear. I guessed it was because she always called Frank her cuddly panda bear. She wore the hood of the costume like the back of a panda's head, with the ears perked up. She had black eyeliner around her eyes and on her nose like Piper.
Annabeth looked bothered, tired, and not overjoyed at all. Her witch's costume was simple. A black dress and boots with a broomstick. Her blonde curls were tucked in her hat, with a few loose strands hanging down.
Then the boys showed up. All dressed simply: Jason as Superman; Frank as Iron Man; Percy as a vampire; Nico as a skeleton; and Leo as a pirate.
Harry was a Greek warrior, Ron a Roman one. They winked at the demigods.
We all left to the Great Hall. After dinner we went trick or treating to all of the classrooms. Snape was the only teacher not to give anything out.
The portraits were all watching and saying to one another, "That's a brilliant costume!" or "I wish I was painted in that!" and "Witches don't look like that!"
Professor McGonagall, being the Transfiguration teacher, was a cat. Whenever someone knocked on her classroom door, the tabby cat transformed into a human, and she smiled at us.
Besides the cat part, she was dressed in a black dress with her green robes over it. She wore her usual brooch, orange and blue in some odd pattern, and her pointy hat cocked to one side.
Slughorn was an armchair waiting outside his classroom. Whenever someone approached his head would pop out from the top of the chair and make everyone jump. If you tried to take more than two pieces of candy, his arm would appear and swat your hand.
After getting our candy, we went back to the Great Hall. Rock and roll music was playing, and everyone was dancing and laughing.
Dean took my hand and we danced. Ron twirled Lavender nearby. I saw Harry and Hermione, cracking up as they danced, making fun of slow dancers.
Percy was making Annabeth and Thalia laugh until they couldn't breathe. He twirled them both and put them in headlocks.
Jason, Piper, and Leo were dancing, laughing as well. Jason kept stealing Leo's eyepatch and flying away with it. Leo made kitty noises and scratched at the air. Piper swatted his arm and giggled.
