Ginny
"That was fun," I said to Dean as we left the demigods' class. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were at Hagrid's. I wanted to spend the rest of the day with my boyfriend.
"Yeah, it was. Figgle worms," Dean said to the Fat Lady Portrait. It swung open, and he held it open for me. I felt a twinge of annoyance.
"I've got it," I said as he helped me inside. I didn't mean to sound rude, but something flashed in his eyes. I could do things by myself-Dean was sweet, and he was trying to be kind, but I was a big girl. I didn't need people doing things for me, even my boyfriend.
He said, "They seem nice. Those kids, I mean. What are they again?"
I sighed. "Demigods," I told him. "Half god. They're very nice, yeah, but they've been down ever since they lost Leo. It's been a week."
"Curly hair, impish face?"
"Exactly him."
Dean laughed. "Well," he said, "I like them. Maybe we could help them find him."
I shook my head. "Dean, I get that you mean well," I began, "but it's not that simple. They've tried every way of contacting him. His dragon can't sense him. If they can't, we can't."
He looked defeated, but smiled and kissed my cheek. "Let's hope they find him, then."
"Yeah," I mumbled as we sat on the couch. It was a normal day in the Gryffindor common room-Dean and I on the couch, Seamus and another boy playing chess, Neville tending to his plant, first-years trying out their Weasley products, and couples making out on the stairs.
And I loved it.
"There's Slug Club tonight," I said. "We go there for dinner. I'm meeting Hermione and Harry and the demigods there. I wish-,"
"Ginny!"
I turned. A big man with one baby brown eye tumbled towards me. He was coming from the ship door. "Hey, Tyson. What's wrong?" Dean looked kind of startled that I was so casually speaking to a one-eyed monster.
He frowned. "Where is Leo?"
I frowned, too. "Tyson, you know he's missing. Nobody knows were he is, exactly. And we can't contact him."
Tyson laughed. "No, silly!" he looked happy. "Fire message! Leo likes fire. It is possible for wizards! I saw a Professor doing it!"
"Fire message...." Then it hit me. Those are what Sirius used to contact Harry during the Triwizard Tournament. If we could possibly send one to Leo....
"Tyson, you're a genius!" I kissed him on his big cheek, and he blushed.
"Was nothing."
"Was everything! We need to tell the others!" I said goodbye to Dean and rushed out of the portrait hole, Tyson hot on my heels. I didn't even realize it when I bumped into Piper.
"Sorry!" I flushed. "Guys, Tyson had a brilliant idea. We haven't been able to contact Leo by your magic...but mine? Sirius used to send messages to Harry through fire. We could try it!"
"That's actually not a bad idea," Jason offered. "We can use the fireplace in one of our cabins. Let's go."
We rushed onto the ship and burst into the first cabin we saw-Frank's. We all gathered around the fire (too bad Harry and Ron and Hermione missed all the fun).
"You have Floo Powder in here, right?" I said. Frank nodded. He took a small silver jar from the desk and handed it to me.
"Okay," I began, "If we say who we want to see, we should get his image projected. We don't know where Leo is or even if he has a way to talk to us. So we just need to wing it. Who's going?"
