After I finished with Ally, I pushed open a door in the back of the warehouse to see Cayden strapped to one of the horrible machines, only this one was different.

He was stuck in a glass cage with panels of spikes on all three sides that slowly moved inward at a rapid pace while water gushed into the cage from tubes. The water level was already halfway and continued to increase just as the walls were two-thirds of a way in and pressing closer by the second.

First, I tried cracking the glass with my own hands only to find it wouldn't budge.

I pulled out my Glock then and shot the glass. Still, it did no good and I panicked.

Bulletproof glass, I was never getting in and the water keeps rising while the walls are closing in.

I glanced around for the controls, they had to be somewhere.

I flashed further back into the other room and found something similar to a control box:

It had so many buttons that I almost didn't think I'd be able to work with it; especially since there were no words on them just colors. I sighed and pressed a purple button and looked up to see the walls closing faster. Cayden was so squished into the walls that I seen blood spurt which raised my panic. I forced myself to calm down and tried a series of complex patterns finding that everything stopped at once.

I breathed out a huge sigh-I'd almost killed him myself.

Walking over to the the death trap, I yanked the hose keeping his water in and it gushed out, slowly lowering him until he was standing- dripping and shaking.

He pressed his face to the glass with tears in his eyes. "I never...thought I'd see your face again."

He brought tears to my eyes because I hadn't known if I would've made it, let alone be able to defeat Ally who had been boosted up with the experimental drugs.

"You are now. I couldn't let you die. I love you," I whispered, my voice very rough with emotion.

I stepped away from the glass and turned to find something to get him out.

I found a high tech laser in all of the piled up equipment that Ally must've gotten from Cooper or somewhere. With it in hand, I cut a large circle in the glass and kicked it in careful to not hurt Cayden.

I rushed to him and bundled him up in my arms. He was shaking because he was so relieved and happy to be safe finally.

I kissed him, deeply from being worried so long and pulled away.

"C'mon. We gotta go," I murmured, tugging him along behind me.

We walked back through to the main room, seeing Ally still-now dead from blood loss.

I felt Cayden's fear rolling off him in waves that slammed against me and I pulled him with me urgently.

He stumbled over his feet, frozen, but I managed to get him outside. I quickly healed the wound he had from the knife wound, I was surprised to see he was even alive...SHE must've done something to help keep him alive- just enough.

"Stay," I mumbled to him as I set him on the nearby fence.

I walked back into the warehouse, I noticed Cayden looked so horrified and I wondered if he'd be a better vampyre? I'd never heard of a scared vampyre, but he could be a first...and if he was too scared...he'd never make it, but Alleeah she seemed fine with my life now unlike when we first met. Although, Cayden had some time to adapt still...

Once in the building I headed straight to the place which I had seen the files of Superhuman XX and found to my dismay they no longer existed there. I quickly searched the entire area...but nothing.
