After I and everyone else relaxed to the idea of a lion..a vampyre lion in our care. I began to wonder how Alleeah would take to it...but then I remembered how she'd taken to what I was so I shrugged that off.
I walked over to the white lion and began to wonder if he drank blood. I knew from Jacque he was a vamp lion, but it didn't mean he had the thirst. It could mean he only had the immortality and strength.
So, I decided to test it not only for curiosity's sake, but also incase when Alleeah came back home.
Taking a knife I drew a small cut and let the blood drip out onto the floor. Watching Ragginao, I found he did- in fact- have the thirst as his eyes changed to red and he lapped at the floor. It worried me.. I wasn't sure if they had designed him for vamp blood only or human blood as well.
I sighed and watched as the massive lion flopped back down after cleaning the spilled blood instead of tearing out my throat.
I laughed. It was sort of ridiculous, but I felt completely relieved my parents hadn't gifted me with a beast that wasn't somewhat "decent."
I reached forward, my cut healed, and petted the lion until he purred.
Standing up straight I left Ragginao sleeping and went to find Jay. He was sitting on the couch, sprawled out, watching T.V.
"Jay..." I said quietly.
"Yes?" He asked, still staring at the T.V.
"Are you certain you don't want to come with tomorrow?"
He nodded. "I don't want to frighten her and I'll spend the time getting more comfortable with Ragginao."
"Alright," I murmured. "Goodnight Jay."
"Night," he muttered.
I flashed away then, upstairs to where Cayden was sleeping from the long, stressful night we'd had.
"Hey, what took you so long?" Cayden mumbled as I slid into bed, pulling me closer.
"I had to see if Ragginao had our thirst. He does, but I believe it's only for vampyres," I said as Cayden pulled me until our lips touched softly.
"Odd... You don't think he'll hurt Alleeah though, do you?" He asked, against my lips.
I shook my head.
"Do you think he'll help us?"
"Well he seems loyal and immortal so I don't see why he wouldn't," I whispered, my lips brushing his soft ones.
"We'll both find out with all these vampyres around," Cayden muttered and kissed me, twisting me underneath him.
I traced patterns on his back, giving in to the burning desire that had built up so long.
----
I awoke to the sound of angry snarls and a smell- rotting meat- I knew the smell it was the same as before- in the desert and the time when Alleeah and I were heading back to my house for the last time.
I flashed up and almost out until I realized, quickly, I didn't have any clothes on. My face heated up in embarassment and I pulled on pajama's fast.
The time was five-twenty five am, I'd have to pick Alleeah up at nine. I groaned internally and noted that Cayden didn't hardly stir; he was a heavy sleeper.
I flitted out to the stairs and stopped short at the last step as I seen a sight that proved Ragginao was worthy.
Jay was forced back against the wall as Ragginao snarled and snapped at two more of the rotting dogs they sent (I half expected them to be something even more exotic since the encounter with the bear, but guess not) trying to get to Jay.
