I stand shocked to see Anya sham and a woman behind her. She's most probably the woman they're pairing fayadth with. I compose myself so my friends won't know. I turn to them, holding the door knob.

"I'll be back, I need to sort something out". I act like nothing is wrong. "You're not running away from these questions, hurry." Kalthoum reminds me.

"We're waiting." Ahlan adds, taking a grape. " I hear you." I give a fake laugh before closing the door. I turn to see Anya sham giving me a semi glare. "You're not inviting us in?"

"Good afternoon. May I help you?" Anya sham looks at me from the head to my feet but honestly, I gave zero cares. "I blame fayadth, if not, how can you disrespect me like this. Well, excuse me. I'll be going in to check out the house for my daughter." She points at the girl beside her who also gave me a dirty look. I ignore the look and stood in front of Anya sham who was heading to the door.

She stood shocked at my action. I had just enough of her nonsense and I haven't really met her since this case started. She's my problem from the start, I'm not going to let her manipulate fayadth and I to do whatever she wants. Maybe for once, she won't get what she wants.

"Aren't you going to move?" She asks with her eyes widened, trying to intimidate me. "No, I can't let you in. This is MY house and my husband isn't here yet for you to sort your problems with him so I see no reason to let you in with a stranger to my home."

I try to feign ignorance to fayadth's warning.

Flashback.

He walks to the door and holds the door knob as I stand behind him. He stops, turning to look at me. "What happened? Did you forget something?"  I ask before he shakes his head. "Just in case, if Anya sham is to come over, DON'T try to go off on her. Please, I know I'm asking a lot from you right now but just try to hold it in, okay?"

He cups my cheek as I reluctantly nod. He kisses me  on the lips while caressing my cheek with his thumb. He pulls away, leaning his forehead on mine. "Thank you for being patient with me..."

I don't think I can do that especially with the way she's acting. "So you think you can tell me what to do now? Let me tell you something, this girl you're seeing is going to be your husband's second wife and she'll have kids with him unlike you."

I try to stay calm and not emotional. "That's great." I mutter when I feel a sharp pain on my cheek. I realize she just struck me across the face. "I don't blame you for acting this way since it's not your own mother that will suffer for this attitude of yours." She turns to leave when I realized what I have done.

I look up, filled with anger, guilt and regret. "I hope your kids don't get punished for your sins." Those words escaped my mouth which made her stop for a second. I didn't wait to see her leave and walked into the house.

I push the door, hanging my head to cover it as I try to mask my emotions. "Are you still running away from the questions or what?" I hear afsheen's voice like she's enjoying it. I bite my inner bottom lip to stop my chin from quivering.

I lock the door so they won't think other wise. I raise my head pouting my lip like I'm think about something.

"What?" Ibtisam asks as my shake my head, turning to face them. "Nothing really, just you know, thinking." I walk to the chair, where I was seated, trying to stop myself from the dam of tears that is threatening to burst out.

Afsheen hits the cushion of the sofa I am about to sit.  "It's not going to take long, don't worry." Ahlan whispers as they burst out laughing. I put on a smile, sitting down.

"Now, how did it go the first time y'all slept to get her?" Kalthoum asks which made me a try thinking. "Well...it was the day...". I trail off, hanging my head when I realized my voice is shaking a bit. I try to conceal it but I couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Are you okay?" Afsheen placing her arm on my shoulder and Ahlan in front on me, sitting on the floor. Ibtisam and Kalthoum stood around.

"What happened?"

"I have no idea."

"Are you okay?"

I sob quietly, trying to stop the tears but it just didn't.

******

I sniffle, my head leaned on my hand. The door unlocks as fayadth walks in and closes the door. "Welcome back." I smile standing up when he throws the key on the table. "Thank you." He sits down, his hand over his mouth.

"Is everything okay?" I sit beside him, worried and scared at the same time. He glances at me, sucking his lips before releasing it. "Did Anya sham come?"

I practically sink into my chair. "Yeah." He nods, taking a deep breath. "What did you say to her?"

"W-we just....". I stutter but try to compose myself especially feeling fayadth's stare. "She came and said she wanted to come in when my friends came over. I stepped in front of her and said no and explained to her that when you came back then you can then she slapped me. She said that it's not my mother thats why I said it. She left and...I said I hope here children don't get punished for her sins...". I trail off, knowing I'm guilty as hell too.

He stands up, rubbing his eyes. "I told you to try and hold back. You DO know what she's going to do right?"

I stand up. "I don't know what came over me and with the way she was acting I just couldn't."

"What did she want?"

"She wanted to come into the house to scout for the girl. She brought the girl too." I thrown my hands in the air. He sighs, pacing to and fro. "Why don't we bring your mom here?"

I ask as he scoffs. "She isn't going to leave, it's a long story." He sits back down, shaking his leg. I realize how tense it is and honestly I hate it. Fayadth seems to be really worried...because of me. I just made it worse for him.

I was about to say something when she stands up, taking his car keys. "Where are you going?"

"To Anya." He holds the door. "Isn't it too late?" He furrows his brows and leaves. I place my hand in my lips, regretting what I said. I take my veil on the chair and take the house keys on the console, following him to the car.

"Afeeya-". He starts but I didn't bother to stop. "Let's go or the traffic is going to get worse." I get on the passenger's seat, closing the door and putting on my seatbelt.

I guess it's my turn.
