Fayadth's point of view.I step on the brakes, waiting for the car in front of me to move, even the slightest move counts when it comes to traffic. I lean back, letting out a sigh as I bite my bottom lip. For his own good, he shouldn't even do anything to her.
I try to stay calm, glancing at Afeeya who seems to be worried and spaced out. Her eyes were fixated on the screened dashboard as she made a ticking sound with her nails while she played with it.
I place my hand on her shoulder when she flinched, bringing her back to reality. She looks at me. "Are you okay?" I felt that question was necessary for me to ask.
"No." She slouches, covering her face with her hands then shook her head. "What have I done, fayadth? I decided to talk and now, I put Anya in a tight situation. I honestly feel Anya sham was right."
"About?"
"I'm acting this way because she's not my biological mother." She puts her hands down, looking down. "I take her as my mom, but I don't know. I even asked you a stupid question before I followed you out. 'Isn't it too late?'." She scoffs. "Am I stupid?" She covers her face again, hearing her sniffle.
"Why can't I be like those strong women that will go through hell and back without even shedding a tear? No, I'm hear constantly crying. I even cried in front of my friends, am I really THAT stupid?" Her voice cracking as I take a quick glance at the static traffic. I park the car so I could focus on her. I hold her wrists, trying to pull it do so I could see her face.
"You're not stupid or anything like that at all. You're just going through something you never thought you'll go through, at least not anytime from now. It's okay to take things differently and it's okay for you to let it out." She raises her head, wiping here tears.
"I'm sorry, I caused this. I shouldn't have said an-"
"It has passed and we can't change anything about that. Okay?". I wipe the tears rolling down her cheeks. "I'm sorry I'm not strong enough to really support you or for you to lean on."
I scoff, shaking my head. "You support me more than you know. I don't know what I will do without you and I'm presently leaning on you." I caress her cheek as she smiled weakly. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." I lean in to kiss her forehead before I sight the cars moving. I switch it back to drive, using one hand to steer the wheel and one, holding afeeya's hand. I felt her other hand cover mine.
"We're almost there". Afeeya informs, slightly biting her lip. "Yeah, good news." I begin to feel the nervousness getting to me as I take the left turn into the street Anya lives. I stop at the gate, waiting for the man walking to me to hurry and give me my gate pass.
He knocks on the slightly tinted window. I roll down the glass and he smiles. "Fayadth, how's your day?" The man whom I can't recall his name asks, I smile too. "I'm fine, thank you. How's the family?"
"They're fine, may I ask the reason for your late visit?"
"To see my family, it's an emergency." I state the obvious. "I hope you're not offended, I need to ask for clarification sake. Is that your wife?" He looks past me to Afeeya. "Yes, she is. I'm in a hurry, please can I have the gate pass?"
"Oh, sorry. Here you go. Please do greet everyone." He slides his hand into his pocket before pulling out the pass. I take it, handing it to Afeeya. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." He walks away as the gate opens, letting me in. I rush to the house and park outside. "You should stay here."
I attempt to open the door. "I'm going too, I'm not staying here gaskiya." Judging by her tone, she's obviously not going to back down. "Okay." I get out of the car, closing the door. I look at Afeeya who was adjusting her veil in front of the car, waiting for me.
