"god college is so hectic, can not wait to start drinking tonight" groaned dixie and we all laugh. "oh no kidding! bryce and josh always host the best parties and so i am sure that sways party is going to be amazing" i exclaimed.
"you look hot" avani exclaimed, "nick is going to be all over you" dixie added and i looked at myself in the mirror, "you think?" and the girls laughed "oh we know" and we all made our way over to sway house. another college party, this is what i was so excited about. my sister never told me about how fun college parties were, then again she and i are polar opposites. she loved to study, she also hated parties but she grew to love them if the right people were there and by right people i mean bryce hall. her and bryce were an on and off couple through all of senior year, he really brought her out of her shell. i texted my sister to see if she was going tonight and she replied that she was and that she was excited to hear about my first day of college. "addison is going to be there" i turned to avani and dixie looked confused, "oh she's my sister and she has an on and off relationship with bryce" i explain, "if she is anything like you she should be fun" and avani laughed "actually she's quite the opposite she isn't a socialite nor does she like parties and only goes for certain people" avani laughed and dixie nodded.
they walked through entrance of the house and was greeted by a few girls, "hey avani!!" a blonde girl greeted and asked shorter brunette greeted her with a hug. "this is mads and nessa, they are in a few of my units" avani introduces, "hey i'm amelia stevens" as i hug them and dixie does the same. "you're addis sister?" and i nodded, "where is she by the way?" and they shrug their shoulders, "probably with bryce" and i nodded and made a break to find her. on my way i was grabbed by the waist, someone pulled me closer to them and i turn around and it's vinnie. "hey vin, nice party" i smiled and he thanked me, "you look pretty" he complimented and i blushed "thank you vin and you don't look to bad yourself" i say looking at his fit. he sure does look good in a loose button up shirt and pants, he's a lot more shy than the guys i usually am drawn to but i like it. "you looked like you were finding someone was it that mysterious person texting you this morning" he teases and i laughed a little (oh boy little does he know it was nick austin). "no one mysterious vinnie that's just you and i am actually looking for my sister" and he laughed, wow he has a nice smile when he does smile, "can i join you on your hunt?" and i smiled "well of course you can" I excitedly replied grabbing hold of his hands.
"little stevens you made it!! and hacker" bryce exclaimed and winked at vinnie and he blushes. "meli!!! i missed youuu" addison says as she lunges forward pulling me into a hug, she turns to face vinnie, "hey! i am addison, amelia's tamer older sister" she introduced herself offering her hand for vinnie to shake, "vinnie" he responded and addi looks between the both of us. "are y'all dating?!" and my eyes widen in shock and by this point avani and dixie. avani had a smirk on her lips for no reason at all, "we literally just met yesterday" and she squinted like she was suspicious but dropped it. "vinnie wanna go grab a drink?" i say and he nodded and we walked towards the open bar. i made myself a vodka concoction of some sorts and he grabbed a beer. we moved towards the outside backyard patio and sit on the beanbags, actually we shared one. so we were pretty close to one another and my heart was beating out of my chest. "so tell me about yourself miss mysterious" he prodded as he takes a swig of his beer, "so you're mr mysterious and i am miss mysterious, hmmm sus" i tease and we both laugh, "if you want my last name just say it stevens" and couldn't help but blush, "ok if you are done imagining me as your wife, i am going to answer your question" i say and he leans back into the bean bag as do i.
"well, you have met my sister she's pretty cool but we are totally polar opposite's she is the quiet and more reserved one but she has her few people who bring her out of her shell like bryce..." i felt myself rambling and my cheeks went red, this never happens i am usually calm and collected but he made me feel like a little girl. "anyways i am rambling, you asked about me not my sister" and he chuckled as he concentrates on me, "well i am a nursing major and i love to party as you know but i also like trying new things and i am a cheerleader, ok that's the boring stuff i guess but i am trying to teach myself how to skate" I ramble and his eyes sparkled, "you want to learn to skateboard?" and i nodded "yeah, i want to be able to skate with anthony and avani, he taught her in high school and i always sat on the side lines watching" and he smiled widely, "i happen to be a pretty good skater myself, i could maybe teach you if you wanted?" he sheepishly asked and i grinned "actually so down thank you vin!!"
"ok enough about me for now, what about you?" i asked finishing my drink, "well i am an economic finance major, pretty boring but i really wanted to maybe go professional with skating for a bit and then come back to college or finish my degree then go professional... but i don't think my parents would want me to not study" he explains and i listen to him speak. he seem so passionate and it was good to finally seem open up. "well you talk about going professional i am glad you'll be teaching me" i say and his smile just widens, "i am excited to teach you, i am sure you will be a pro by the end of it not to talk up myself" and i took a leap of faith when i asked him "i actually don't have a board yet, do you wanna maybe come with me to get one?" and he agreed.
we continue to talk for ages, getting to know one another and he was a really good guy. we were completely different but i could feel myself lean into him and resting my body next to him and he leaned closer to me. then someone opened the back door, "hey there you are meli, i have been looking for you all night" and i sat up and it was nick, i had forgotten about him, i have been soo intrigued to getting to know vinnie better. "oh hey nick" i said smiling and his blue eyes burning into mine and vinnie coughs beside me, "oh hey man, nick austin" nick offered his hand out and vinnie took his hand, "vinnie" and nick nodded before returning his gaze on to me, "wanna come inside and get another drink with me?" he asked and i did not wanna leave vinnie, i was having a really good time, my first party sober in a while and it felt nice. i looked to vinnie and he gave me the nod, "go! i'll catch you later" and i guiltily followed nick inside. i made direct eye contact with the girls and they all had smirks on their lips. i gave my sister, avani, dixie, mads and nessa the fingers and they laughed.
