i needed to study so bad and so this study date with nick did not sound so bad. studying and a date with one of the cutest guys on campus, how could you say no. "where you going?" avani asked looking up from the shared desk in our dorm, "study date" i reply putting a little bit of make up on, can't hurt to look good. "with vinnie? you two seem to be getting along" she tries to pry, "no, nick!" I say excitedly, "cute, be careful ok he's a player and he is best friends with ryland" she warns as distaste rolls of her tongue when she says ryland's name and i rolled my eyes, "he's a nice guy" i convince, "sure, but still" and i bid her goodbye as i go downstairs to meet nick.
on the way down the stairs i meet nai in the stairway corridor, "hey girl! i was just heading up to meet you, where are you off to?" she asked giving me a hug, "study date!" i excitedly respond trying not show her that i was in a rush, "ooo, with vinnie?" she teases, "oh god why is everyone saying that! no with nick austin" i reply and she nods, "oh, thought you and vinnie were a thing?" she tried to pry and i inwardly groan, "no? says who? we are literally just friends and anyways nick and i are talking" and she smiles, "so, it's ok if I start talking to vinnie, like in that way" and i nodded, "yep go ahead! good luck with it and i will see you soon, but i am late meeting nick! bye!" and she hugged me goodbye and i ran down the stairs.
"oh my god! i am soo sorry i am late bumped into nai on the way down and she was asking me all these questions!" i explain a bit out of breath, and he smiled widely as he brought me in for a hug, "slow down cutie, it's all good! you look very cute by the way" he complimented and my cheeks flushed red, "i am literally in a hoodie and leggings" i joke and he ruffled my hair, "and you are still the cutest girl on campus" he says as we leave the girls dorms towards the library. we entered the library after a good 10 minute walk, "you better not distract me!" i playfully tease nick and he winked, "i'll try my hardest too" and sat beside me. we both engrossed ourselves into our work for the next few hours.
"want to break for lunch?" nick asked and i nodded desperately hungry for food, we packed away our things and walked towards the food court (the fancier cafeteria on campus where you had to pay for food). nick paid for my food and we sat at a table, "thanks nick" he smiled as he peck my forehead in response, we dive into conversation as we eat our food. "meli, this may be a bit sudden or too soon, but i just can't wait, we have been speaking for the last 2 weeks or so and it has been the best weeks of my life and i was wondering if you'd like to be my girlfriend?" he asked taking my hands in his, I mean this was definitely a shock. we mostly spoke over text or after cheer practice, or on facetime and we have hung out once or twice alone but i definitely felt so relaxed with nick and did not feel the pressure so i said yes and he pulled me in for a kiss. "i am so happy you said yes, you are mine" and i pecked his lips.
