~Larissa POV~

Larissa Brookes. I hear my name being called as I slowly arise from my seat. I walk down the aisle nervously to the bowls. When I reach the bowls, I cut my palm as my hand shakes wildly. My blood then slowly starts to drizzle off my hand into the bowl of..

I wake up with a startlingly shock, shaking in trepidation of what is to come later.

Later is the Choosing Ceremony, and my mind is still running wild whether or not to stay in Amity, or switch.

If I switch factions, I wouldn't even know where to switch, and my parents could never forgive me.

If I don't switch factions, I won't be who I want to be, and my life could be miserable.

At this point I don't know what to do. Please my family, which I have always tried to do, or please myself which I can seem to never do.

~Ashton POV~

Today is the day, today is the Choosing Ceremony.

That's all I can think about, the Choosing Ceremony.

I lied awake all night not being able to sleep, the grief of leaving my sister behind or the guilt of letting others tell me how to live my life.

My parents are Candor, so that makes me Candor. My parents have always been truthful to me, and when I brought up the idea of switching, the things they said to me are unforgettable.

At this point, if I switch my family will hate me, and if I stay I will hate myself.

As I lay back down to try and get some sleep, my mind is still racing whether or not to listen to my family or follow my own path.
