The mission had been successful. They had managed to save the girl and defeat Chisaki and his allies. So why did she feel this way? An emptiness in her chest that wouldn't let her sleep. Ochako knew the answer. What she didn't know was what she should do to stop this feeling. Feeling guilty, Sir Nighteye was in her arms. It was her responsibility to save him, but she failed. Can she really be a hero? She wasn't even in her first year and one person had already died because of her. What kind of hero was she going to be, a loser who can't do anything right?

She failed to beat Bakugo, let Toga escape during Summer Camp, and now she failed to save Sir Nighteye. What kind of hero is she going to be? What's the point of still trying to be a hero? She's not cut out for this, she should giv-. Before she could finish those thoughts, she heard someone knock on her bedroom door.

"Uraraka, are you alright? You didn't come down to eat your dinner, so I decided to bring it." Izuku told her from the other side of the door.

"I'm fine, I'm not hungry but thanks Deku," Ochako told him, trying to make him go away. Right now, she just wanted to be alone.

Izuku sighed sadly. "This is about Sir Nighteye, right?" Ochako was surprised that he knew she hadn't told anyone. But she guesses it was pretty obvious from the way she'd been acting the last week. "Can I come in, please? I want to talk to you Uraraka because I think I understand what you're going through," Izuku said with a calm voice.

Ochako wanted to tell him, No, but she already knew how persistent Izuku was and deep inside she also had a little curiosity to know what he was going to say to her. "Ok," was all she answered.

Izuku opened the door and saw her. She was sitting on her bed with her back against the wall, hugging her legs. Izuku walked over to the nightstand and put the bowl of soup on it. "I'll leave your food there," Izuku said as he sat next to Ochako on the bed.

"Uraraka, if you want you can talk to me, I'm here to listen to you," Izuku told her with a calm voice as he looked at her. Ochako didn't look at him, but decided to tell him everything she was feeling. She doesn't know why, but she just wanted to get this off her chest, and maybe talking to his best friend could help her.

"I failed Deku, I failed as a hero, I should give up and leave U.A. so that a true hero can take my place," said the brunette as tears came out of her eyes.

"How did you fail?" was all Izuku said, with a half-shaky voice.

Ochako heard the change in his voice and was tempted to look into his eyes, but she didn't, not yet. "I failed when I lost against Bakugo, I failed when I let Toga escape, I failed because Sir Nighteye died because of me," Ochako says, her voice trembling as more tears fell from her face.

"I see," Izuku replied. "Uraraka, can I tell you something?" Ochako just nodded. "But can you look at me please," Ochako did exactly that and when she saw him her eyes widened, Izuku wasn't looking at her he was looking at the wall in front of him but you could see in his eyes that he was crying.

"I... I failed too." Ochako listens to him and immediately wanted to tell him that wasn't true, but Izuku didn't let her speak. "I failed when I lost to Todoroki, I failed when I couldn't save Bakugo at Summer Camp, I failed when I was too late to help Mirio or when I saw Sir Nighteye get pierced in front of me," Izuku turned to look at Ochako.

"This feeling of emptiness, of guilt that invades your heart, is what is happening to you. Isn't it Uraraka?" Ochako couldn't answer anything, but Izuku could see in her eyes that was exactly what she was feeling.

"I was feeling the same way until All Might told me something," Izuku told her with a soft smile. "He told me that failure is not something to be ashamed of, that it happens to all of us, and that it is part of the job that we choose. That the best thing to do when dealing with failures is to learn from them and improve to prevent the same situations from happening again."

"Deku, I don't think I can do that," Ochako told him as she looked away from him.

"It's not gonna be easy, but we can use these negative memories and turn them into lessons to become better. We must not forget who we are and why we are here." Izuku said.

Ochako sighs. Izuku and All Might were right. She couldn't be totally depressed by this. Obviously, these feelings weren't going to go away that easily, but she had to keep trying because that's what a hero does. She turns to look at Izuku, who was looking at her with a smile and his arms extended to the sides. Ochako understood what he was doing and went over to him and hugged him. Izuku responded by hugging her back.

Izuku placed his chin on her head and told her, "No matter how you feel, Uraraka, I want you to remember that I will always be here for you." Ochako just hugged him tighter as she told him, "I'm here for you too Deku, when you have any problem, don't hesitate to find me to help you".

Izuku just smiled and says "I know"
