You sat in the TARDIS with the Doctor as Donna went out to pick up some food. You had all decided to take a break from traveling for a while after what happened to Jenny, you were all mourning but the Doctor most of all.

You and the Doctor were just sitting together in your bedroom in the TARDIS. You both sat on your TARDIS blue queen sized bed. The Doctor just stared at the wall of your room in complete silence, tears silently dripping down his cheeks.

"She was just to much like me." he finally said "She was so beautiful but she just reminded me so much of home. I killed everyone y/n. None of me cared when I did it, I just new it was what I had to do. I lost everything I had. My wife, my daughter, my friends, my home. I lost it all. It just feels like even though I end up saving all these creatures, strewn across the galaxy, I still have caused to much pain, and so much death. It seems like I end up burning everything that I touch. I just want to save people, I don't want to hurt them. There is just so much pain in the world, so much suffering. But out of everyone in existence, I am by far the one who feels most guilty. Guilty of slaughter, guilty of treason, guilty of getting someone trapped in a parallel universe. It just hurts so much, and I just wish that I could end it."

His head turned toward you, he was now very visibly crying

"Please" you said "Doctor, just please stop"

"I just wish" he said "that everything was back to the way it was so many years ago. No war, no Daleks, just Gallifrey. Peaceful and quiet. Everything back to the way it was, back to the way life should have been."

The tears continued pouring down his face. He then pulled his knees up to his chest and buried his face in them.

"Doctor" you said. You then placed two fingers under his chin and lifted them up so he was looking at you. Then with your other hand you carefully wiped the tears off of his face. "Just think for a moment." you continued "If life were all perfect and happy, and if the Daleks had never come to Gallifrey you would have never stolen a TARDIS."

The Doctor raised his head slightly higher in interest. "If you hadn't stolen that TARDIS" you said "You would have never saved the world. You would have never seen the galaxies. You would have never met me. So if you continue thinking that you wish you could go back, and just see for one moment what life would have been like if the Daleks hadn't come, then you are one sad man Doctor. Would your really want to give all of this up? Would you ever want to give up Sarah? Would you ever want to give up K9? Would you ever want to give up Rose? Would you ever want to give up Jack? Would you ever want to give up Martha or Donna? Would you ever want to give up me? The Daleks came so that you could make that choice to steal a TARDIS. The Daleks came so that you could have an adventure. And you Doctor, of all people, have taught me that there is always something worth living for, something worth fighting for. There is always a new adventure waiting around the corner and so Allons-y! So don't for one second wish that you could go back, because look at what you would be giving up."

The two of you stared intently into each other's eyes for a moment before the Doctor put his arms around you and hugged you tight.

"I would never" he said into your ear "Nor could I ever bring myself, to give all of this up. I could never loose you y/n, because you mean the world to me, and I love you so much."

He then released you from the hug and kissed you softly on the lips.

And together you traveled on
