Turning Point

"You're all set Miss (L/n). All the paperwork is done and you are recovering well. Just please return if your headache becomes overbearing or you suffer any more pain. Do try and be cautious on the first couple of days. Try your best not to strain yourself." You smile as you say, "Thank you Doctor. I'll collect my things and be on my way." He nods as he leaves the room. Once he's out you start to change, as your mind wanders to the conversation you and your friends had two days ago.

                         [Two days ago]

"The hell did you just say?" You feel your heart rate spike as you know Mikey isn't kidding. "A lot is happening (Y/n), but it's best to discuss it later. Okay?" As you're about to start to argue, Takemichi takes your hand. "He's right (Y/n). You just went through hell, and you can't remember much of it." He smiles as he lifts his pinky, "So work to get better. Let's face this challenge head on." You know they were right, but what the hell had happened in those days you were missing? Baji wasn't a traitor, so what the hell drove him to do this. "Alright, alright, you win." You smile weakly as you wrap your pinky around his. As you let go, a feeling of dread overwhelms your senses. "Did I... somehow cause this...?" Your chest feels heavy as panic starts to set in.

You couldn't help it, you had started to shake, causing Emma to pull you into a hug. "Stop it (Y/n). You aren't the cause of this. Baji left of his own accord." She pauses for a second to look at you. "I know you're worried, and given your circumstances with Baji, I don't blame you. But right now your focus should be on you." She taps your nose as she says, "I know how stubborn you can be so look at me when i say this; You. Aren't. At. Fault. For. This." She tapped your nose as she emphasized each word she spoke. This caused you to chuckle as all the fear you held disappeared. "Thank you Emma, all of you thank you for all the support you've given me." A smile spreads against all of their faces, even Mikey's. "They're right. My focus should be me, but I just can't help it."

You slowly extend your arm, "Damn you for being so difficult." As you hold out your pinky, you say, "Mikey! I'm not giving up! When I'm healed, I promise you," You smile as you say, "I'll bring Baji back!" This shocks Mikey and everyone else, but before they can speak, Takemichi chuckles. "Ah, you're always so stubborn." He places his hand on your head as he says, "Wherever she goes, I'm bound to follow." He extends his arm and holds out his pinky as he says, "So we'll bring him back, together." Mikey smiles, as a tear slips from his eye. "You two are crazy.." He takes a deep breath as he says, "Please... Bring him back.. That guy means a whole lot to me." You smile as you think to yourself, "Just hold on Baji.. I'll bring you back soon.."

                         [Present Day]

"The hell is going on with you, you idiot." You spoke to yourself as a knock was heard on your door. "Come in" You say as you gather the last of your things. Emma peaks her head through the door, "Are you ready to go?" You nod as you and Emma leave the hospital. Mikey and Draken are waiting outside for you both. "How are you doing (Y/n)?" Draken asks as you smile. "Better. Doc said I'm healing at a good rate. Of course this is bothersome." You point at the bruising on your wrists and face. "The bruising on my stomach is easy to hide, but this? Not so much." You awkwardly smile, as Mikey takes your hand. "You always look beautiful, regardless of the bruising on your face." You lightly punch his arm as you say, "You know I'm not actually your wifey." He pouts as he says, "Why are you so mean!" He pulls you into a hug, "You just came back to us! I missed you!" You chuckle as you say, "Fine! Fine! I know you mean well!" You push him back as they all laugh and you wrap an arm around Emma and Draken. "You three don't have to keep worrying. I'm fine or I'm working to be." You let them go as you climb Mikey's bike. "So let's finally go home."
