A Brother's Mercy

"And that's everything.." You sat on your bed, with your legs in your chest, as you waited for Cameron to say something. He softly chuckles as he says, "So he's just in the other room?" You scoff as you say, "Yeah.. What am I ever gonna do with him.." He takes a deep breath as a pit of anxiety fills you. "I-I'm sorry Cam.. I-I didn't mean to-" He cuts you off, as he says, "No Ray, I'm not disappointed in you." You suck in a deep breath of relief as you say, "How do you always know how I feel.." He chuckles as he says, "It's my responsibility as your big brother." You smile, as he softly continues, "Take a deep breath for me." You do as your told, as he continues, "I'm not gonna say I'm too thrilled about what happened.. Especially because of the severity of your wounds.. But I know why it happened. You saw everything they were doing to your friends, to your division, it made you angry Ray. It made you vengeful.. To the point you wanted to hurt those guys, and in that instant, it didn't matter how badly you were hurt, you just wanted to hurt them as bad, if not worse, than what they did to your friends." You rest your head on your knees as you say, "How can you be so sure Cam.. Wha.. What if something's wrong with me.." He chuckles as he says, "There's a lot wrong with you loser, but that's a conversation for another time. Trust me on this Ray. You acted the same way with Dad." His words sink into you, as he softly says, "Remember? When you wanted to kill Dad, but you missed because Mom screamed and talked you through it?" You let your legs go as you softly cover your mouth and mumble, "Holy shit.." Cameron once again chuckles, as he says, "Honestly Ray, how are you this dense? We talked about all of this in therapy."

You roll your eyes, as scoff and say, "Honestly I don't even remember much of that either, 9 times out of 10 I was just trying to get the hell out of there." Cameron sighs as he says, "Of course you did. Jeez Ray, you're helpless sometimes. You lost your cool like that because of the harm they did to your friends. Remember Ray, it's okay to want to protect your friends, but you should never go past hurting someone for fun." You sigh as you rub your temple, and say, "I know you're right.. That's probably why Chifuyu interfered.. He was trying to save me.." Cameron sighs as he says, "I wouldn't doubt it.. But Ray! You're not off the hook for how you treated your friends! They care deeply about you, you idiot. You were the one that fought so hard to stay in Tokyo because of how much you care about your friends. This is them trying to pay that back! I know you felt overwhelmed, and the last thing you wanted was a bunch of your friends scolding you, but how you treated them was terrible Ray." You lay down as you pull a pillow over your face. "Stop being right Cameron.. I know that.. And I know everything I said was terrible.. I just.. UGH!" You toss the pillow as you sit back up, "I don't know okay! I just felt scared! I didn't know how to process everything.." You start to softly cry as, Cameron sighs and says, "You were really terrified.. Weren't you Ray..?" You sniffle as you say, "O-Of c-course I was.. Y-You know me Cam.. You know how I think and process things! I-I've never done s-something like this! FUCK!" You shouted as you covered your mouth, praying you didn't wake up Draken. You slowly calm down, as you softly ask, "Cam.. Do you think they'll hate me.." He wasn't expecting that, as he chuckles and says, "Jesus you really are hopeless. Absolutely not. Those guys love you so much. If anything they are waiting for you to call."

You sniffle as you softly smile. "Yeah.. I'm really lucky.. Even though they are idiots sometimes.." Cameron laughs, as he slyly asks, "Ray, you've shown me that I can trust these guys, so you should too. It's okay to be scared, to not understand how you feel or act, but don't be scared to rely on them. Don't isolate yourself anymore Ray.. Just as they let you in, let them in." You sniffle as you say, "Thank you Cameron.." You hear him smile, as he says, "It's no problem little Ray, it's what Big Brothers do." You smile, as he takes a deep breath and says, "So you wanna tell me what happened with you and Mikey? Or are we just gonna blow past that shit?" You sit upright as you basically shout, "OH WOW LOOK AT THE TIME, YOU SHOULD GET SOME SLEEP." Cameron laughs even more, as he shouts back, "Can't avoid telling me! We have to talk about it!" You get up as you quickly say, "Goodnight Big Brother. I love you, thank you, byyee!" You hang up the phone, as you lean against the bathroom door, a smile plastered on your face. A second later, your phone dings, as you look and see a text from your brother.
