My alarm rang at 6am the next morning. I was still in shock by the massive check Mr. Adams had given me the night before. What kind of man can afford to pay someone to watch his teenage daughter for $5,000 a week? That seemed ridiculous, even if the man is rich and has more money than I would know what to do with. I got out of bed and fumbled to the kitchen to put on a pot of coffee while I hopped in the shower. I got out and slipped on a pair of Capris with a three quarter inch sleeved baby blue top, adding my beige sandals to finish the look for the day. I ran down to the kitchen to enjoy my coffee before leaving for Mr. Adams'. Once arriving and making it through the gate, I went into the kitchen where Mr. Adams was fidgeting through some papers. He stuffed them in his briefcase quickly, as if he were late.

"I did not leave a note today, but do breakfast the same as yesterday. Molly will let you know anything else she needs through the day. Please try not to call and bother me with anything, as I have a very busy day full of important meetings. Oh, and a swim instructor for you will be by at noon. Use some of the money from the check and go out to buy a bathing suit. Take Molly with you. She will help you pick one out that's suitable. Now I have to run." His words rambled together. His eyes didn't once look up at me as he spoke, then he left out the door.

I was shocked. Molly was actually serious when she said she would have her father arrange for me to learn to swim? It was embarrassing for me to not know how to swim at my age and then to have a swim instructor come and teach me in front of a thirteen year old...I hated that I had to do this. I couldn't back out or else Molly could say something to her father and it could jeopardize my job. I couldn't afford that. I went ahead and began fixing breakfast for Molly. Just as I was pouring a glass of orange juice, I heard a chair pull out. I turned and sat the glass on the bar in front of Molly.

"Thank you." I smiled and nodded. "Did my father tell you about the swim instructor coming at noon?" She spoke as she began eating her omelet.

"He did." I was so nervous about it that it made me feel sick to my stomach, but I had to go through with it. My job depended on it, as sad as it was to say.

"As soon as I finish I'm going to go change and we can leave to get you a suitable bathing suit." I didn't reply to her, only nodded. I went and sat in the living room, waiting for her to finish her breakfast and go change. She changed into a pair of Jean shorts that flaired a little at the ends, black sandals, and a light pink tank top. She had her bathing suit underneath, showing some pink from it around the straps of her tank top. "I guess we will take your car." She walked towards it a little, me trailing behind. "Let's go. Come on." I started to move faster to my car. We drove in silence for the majority of the way until Molly spoke up and told me where to go.

"Turn in here." I did as Molly instructed. She reminded me so much of her father. I followed Molly into the store. She immediately started rummaging through the bathing suits, keeping her eyes especially on the two pieces. I picked up a one piece that was tri-colored of white, light blue, and navy blue. It tied around the side. I held it up so Molly could see and immediately she pushed my hand down, letting me know that one was a no. I hung it back up and skimmed through them. Molly picked up three. "Go try these on. I want to see when you try them on, too." I went inside a dressing room and changed into the first two piece. It was orange with one wide strap and the bottoms were very short. I wasn't comfortable in things so short. I liked to keep myself covered as much as possible. I walked out and showed Molly.

"Here's the first one."

"Turn around." She twirled her finger as she spoke. I turned around to make sure Molly could see the whole thing. I hated it. "Try on the next one." I went back in the dressing room and put on the next one. It was a solid navy blue with thin straps that adjusted. The bottoms were a little larger than the last and covered more of my waist so I was at least a little more comfortable. I walked back out, anticipating what Molly might say about this one.

"What do you think?" I turned around as I had previously to show Molly the entire two piece. She moved her head slowly from side to side.

"I don't need to see the other one. This is it." I looked at the mirror beside me, looking at how the two piece fit. I didn't look horrible. It was a change for me. It was a new feeling. I went inside the dressing room and took off the two piece, putting my clothes back on. I hung up the two bathing suits I wasn't going to buy and went to the counter to purchase the navy blue two piece. I spent $40 on a bathing suit, something I would have never done on my own. Molly walked out and I followed behind her to get in my car. She didn't say anything for a few minutes on the drive back to her home. "That suit looks nice on you."

"Thank you." With Molly, I took compliments where I could get them. When we got back to the house, we went inside. It was getting close to noon, so I went to the bathroom and changed into the navy blue two piece. I met Molly outside at the pool. She had already taken off her clothes to only reveal her pink bathing suit.

"The swim instructor just pulled in." I looked up to see about a six foot tall man, muscles peaking out as he was shirtless. I tried not to stare.

"You must be Ms. Burke? Mr. Adams said I would be providing you with lessons today. I trained Molly previously. She was a fast learner."

"Yes, I'm Ms. Burke." I paused nervously. "You can call me Summer." He smiled.

"Well, let's get in the pool." He instantly got in the pool, not even flinching with the temperature change. I was slow to get in behind him. As I was getting in, I saw Molly out of the corner of my eye make her way to sit in one of the chairs by the pool, slipping on her sunglasses and laying her head back. I would much rather have been sitting beside her in a chair, working on my tan, than about to be getting swimming lessons. "We will start out slow. Mr. Adams has arranged for me to come back Wednesday through Saturday to continue the lessons, so we have time. No need to rush anything you're not comfortable with right off."

"What? You'll be back tomorrow?" I did not mean to speak out loud. Molly heard me.

"You'll need them." Molly spoke and went back to enjoying the sunshine. I felt sick. How could I keep this up the rest of the week?
