Chapter 7- Savior

The vessels were being readied on the busy shores of Verline. Eutha's father, Steven, was going to command the force from Verline. Soon the waters between the Shrine and the Isles would turn red, with the smelly taint of blood. Peleg was in the crossfire on the ruckus. "Hello?" he asked, as everyone, even the useless blacksmiths were ignoring him. Randell and Bishan were getting the Dandy Bow prepared for the sea. Peleg sighed. Then a sailor walked by and then stopped right when he saw Peleg. He seemed in shock. ".....Peleg?" he asked. Peleg then realized.... No but his eyes could be fooling him... "Could it really be.... Jeroboam?". Jeroboam nodded and then gave his old homie, a big, choking-to-death hug. "What are you doing here?" Jeroboam. Peleg continued to summarize and explain the events that occurred, from his discovering of his heritage, to Tepan's death and their arrival here. Jeroboam listened carefully to the tale, the adventures, and how he got started on this entire thing. "When the Demons strike, how will you defend? You don't have a vessel, so it's time to get one, I have a spare?" Jeroboam rhetorically asked. "Oh no, I-I dunno how to ride on a vessel." Peleg said as he tried to turn down Jeroboam's offer. "Trust me, you'll pick it up quicker than anyone else, it's just like Sand Racing '' Jeroboam chuckled. Jeroboam was referring to the Sand Racing, a spot with a little boat that they used to skid on sand. Peleg had never, ever lost a Sand Race. Peleg sighed and agreed to follow Jeroboam, as he presented the navy blue vessel, "This is the Lousy High and trust, it ain't lousy at all. One of the fastest boats and can fit two. The problem is, it's so fast that no one can handle it. But I think you can''. Peleg reluctantly got into the boat, but as soon as he did he went off soaring faster than anyone, everyone dropped what they were doing as they stared at him. The way he sailed was that of a prodigy. "Who is this newbie? Because, if I'd be damned, he got skill" one of the helmsman spoke. "You shall lead the charge with me today, Peleg!" Jeroboam said, and the others seemed to be supporting him as well, shockingly chanting, 'Mage! Savior, Mage!", the two words, the phrase, over and over again. Peleg had support, he knew what he needed to do. The question was could he do it? Could he come face-to-face with the masked Demon? He may be a Mage, but he was not quite a savior, not quite yet.

Randell, meanwhile, was left pondering with Bishan in the Dandy Bow. "What are you thinking of?" Bishan asked.

"We're back tied into the Civil War. "

"We had to choose a side eventually."

"Did we choose the right one?"

"I'm afraid I can't answer that, but fate gave us a side and we are now part of it."

"What of my debts to the Shogun?"

"If we win, the Shogun will answer to us, and not himself or the Demons.

"Hmm...." Randell said as he drifted off, ending the discussion. Outside of the Dandy Bow, Eutha and her father were into their own argument. "It's Raiknos" Eutha said, "He knows that you have betrayed the Council, if we don't win this fight, it could mean your execution.",

"I know. But I promise you that we'll make it out alive from this one, like always."

Eutha sighed and left. She didn't want her father to leave them like her mother did. Of all these 'heroes' none of them were truly saviors, not yet at least.
