Chapter 17- An Ancient Grudge
Raiknos had arrived in the desert landscape, the sandy town of Ironsumit. It has been so long since I've been here. He walked lonely, in the abandoned farming town, as few merchants and trolls who were there stared at him. Then he walked to an old house and swung his sword and sliced the door open. Inside was an old frail man who looked like he was in his 40s and a woman, slightly younger. "You have caused too much trouble", Raiknos angrily muttered just loud enough, so the man could hear. "Look, I know the last time we met, it wasn't on the greatest terms–" he was interrupted by Raiknos, "You took everything from me! My family. You were forced to watch as you sliced my wife's throat and left me to burn in the endless plains of Mount Warfolk, and then you house this traitor. And I'm not even here, for that reason. Who is Tepan's apprentice? What is his name? And then I'll leave you alone". "Someone who was like my brother". Anxo, the frail man chuckled. Raiknos gritted his teeth, "Your brother was weak, he couldn't muster the strength to serve the Demon King, so I ended him". "That boy, I'll tell you who he is. Someone who'll be much better than you." Anxo gritted his teeth. Peleg's Aunt, the woman stood staring at Raiknos and Anxo. Raiknos, "Fine then. It'll be your death then," he sighed and went straight towards Anxo. Peleg's Aunt stared in horror and threw herself forward in between Raiknos' blade and Anxo. "Lottera!" Anxo screamed out in agony. Her body descended as Raiknos' blade was pulled away. Trolls and Villagers alike had gathered to see the event. Raiknos remained as he was, unmoved. Anxo too. He watched as tears dropped from his eyelids. And then suddenly, in a act of rage, he swung an axe from his back. "You may be a mage, but I trained in the ways of a Barbarian!" he gritted, and swung his axe. Raiknos parried the attack, swinging his sword in the nick of time to save himself. The clang of the swift sword and heavy axe resonated sending a wave of wind across all of Hizuka. From the castle of the Shogun, to the dangerous shores or the lands of the unknown as the sun in the east, and to the shores pointing westwards, and the lands of the Demons. It was a unanimous singular sword, like this world should have been. Anxo swung his axe without warning, ripping Raiknos' torso and chest, revealing his scarred skin. Raiknos stood with blood dripping from his chest then muttered, "I'm sorry, I didn't want it to end this way. But it has to be done, to stop Hades", he said as he shattered Anxo's axe and then drove his sword through Anxo's chest. The Trolls and Villagers slowly walked away from the hut. Raiknos then cast a spell which lit the hut ablaze, burning the bodies of the dead couple. Then on the horizon of the dusty scenery, a lone ninja stood. Klement. "Ahh look at this work of art, Do you draw in your free time, I know the name of the boy", Klement said to Raiknos. "What is it?" the looming demon questioned. "His name is..... Peleg. Peleg". "Peleg, hmm a unique name. What is his last name?" Raiknos continued battering with his questions. Klement had a reply, "No one. He's an orphan. We have no records of him, whatsoever". Raiknos was slightly surprised. "Good, now I want you to lure him somewhere and capture him. Alert any of your allies, but make sure this doesn't reach the Demon King", he said as walked away to the shores of Hizuka, to return back to his duties.
