When we are in pain, we tend to build barriers around ourselves that are high enough to keep others out but low enough to allow sunlight to pass through. We convince ourselves that not feeling anything is the key to avoid undeserved pains, and this may be true. However, at the end of the day, all we can do is sit and gaze at the wall, reflecting that while we may have gotten rid of the pain, we've also lost our view of the sunsets.
