It was the craziest weekend of the year, the weekend Comic Con San Diego was held. Being the largest fan event in the world, it was always filled with thousands upon thousands of fanatic fans. The event was a great opportunity for promoting new projects, answering dozens of questions and interacting with the fanbase.

That's why Marvel paused the latest production, Avengers Infinity War, to fly the cast out to California for the weekend. It was a nice break from the hectic filming schedule, however y/n couldn't help but feel overwhelmed at the prospect of it. She was the newest cast member, being the most recent addition to the team and it was her first time being on a comic con panel.

Sure, she'd been part of blockbuster films before, but never to this scale. Y/n wasn't used to the sudden paparattzi and fame that came with the announcement of the latest hero. The trailer for the film had only been released a couple weeks ago and y/n's Instagram followers had already skyrocketed into the millions. Of course, she knew how popular the marvel franchise was, but nothing could have prepared her for the harsh spotlight she was suddenly thrust under.

Y/n's co-stars were incredibly welcoming, they had all been through the experience before and knew how intense it could be. However, Chris Evans was the one who she connected with the most. Y/n had previously worked alongside him in a low budget indie film back in the 2000s and they have been inseparable since. That was one of the reasons she took the role in the first place, she knew that Chris would be by her side every step of the way.

Standing backstage with the cast, y/n closed her eyes and took a long breath as she heard the crowd erupted from the convention hall before her. They were in the biggest venue that Comic Con had, seating over 6,000 guests.

Chris had told her what to expect on the flight over and she found it comforting to be around people who had done this countless times before, but it didn't make it any less nerve wracking. Scarlett, Robert Downey Jr, Mark, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy were making small talk as they waited for their name to be called out and walk on stage. Chris Evans and y/n were standing closer to the entrance as they tried to get a sneak peak of the crowd.

"It's a lot of people" y/n murmured to him and she peered around the corner to see the large crowd eagerly waiting for the event. They spotted y/n and the crowd burst into screams, some even chanting her character's name. She quickly ducked back and almost stumbled into Chris by doing so.

"Easy there" he said and he caught her waist and she quickly balanced herself with one hand on his shoulder as she readjusted her dress.

"Sorry" y/n said with a nervous chuckle and Chris let go of her with a small smile.

"better back here than on stage" he said and y/n nodded, falling in front of a crowd of thousands would definitely not be ideal.

"I'm a bit of a mess" y/n said quietly and put a hand to her head "I don't know if I can do this Chris, there are so many of them. What if they don't like me? Or-" y/n began to panic but Chris quickly cut her off.

"Hey, hey y/n" he slipped his hand in hers "didn't you hear what they were saying? The crowd loves you, there's nothing to worry about. Besides, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere" Chris said soothingly and y/n met his gaze.

"You're right, I am really happy to be here but it's all a bit too real" she managed to say and Chris hummed an agreement "god, I'm so glad you're here with me"

The presenter began speaking to the crowd, the rest of the cast stopped their conversations as each actor began to get called onstage.

"Please welcome the one and only Robert Downey Jr!" The presenter called and Robert strutted on stage with confidence. From backstage, y/n could see him blowing kisses to the audience as he went to take his seat on the panel. Next up was Scarlet, followed by Mark, Jeremy and Chris Hemsowrth. The crowd erupted with noise as each one made an entrance and took their seat at the table.
