After a calm, peaceful dinner overlooking the beautiful, scenic mountains, Hanna hugged goodbye to her sister and grandmother before climbing back into my car.
"You have fun tonight?"
"Yes!" She smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Hanna, I love you." I whispered in her ear.
We drove back in silence to the hotel. School was going to be starting soon. Hanna and I were thinking about staying in Colorado. Maybe we'd even move in with Kayla, or maybe we'd just live by ourselves. When we got out of the car, Hanna immediately pressed her lips against mine. I kissed her back, pushing her against the car, stopping only from lack of air. We hurried into the hotel, and we ran to our room as fast as we could.
The second I closed the door behind me, Hanna was already undressing. We both knew what was going to happen. She climbed onto the bed and curled up under the covers waiting for me. I climbed next to her in only my boxers. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her head.
"I'm scared." She mumbled.
Although her grandma clearly thought my ice cream story was only a decoy, it was 100 percent the truth. Hanna and I never slept together.
"Don't be, beautiful." I mumbled against her skin as I kissed down her jawline.
"Kale," She whispered.
Her voice was full of fear, and it caused me to stop and look up at her. I gently brushed the hair from her eyes and tucked it behind her ear.
"What are we doing?" She whispered.
"Baby," I started in response, but she cut me off.
"Kale, we were like fourteen! We were so different. We were so young. And after all that time, I feel like I've only really known you for these few months. And, everything was happening so fast. And there was so much drama and pain. I don't feel like we're ready for this." She whispered.
"I understand, baby."
"But, I don't want to disappoint you."
"Me? Never." I whispered back.
"I'm sorry. I love you," She whispered, cuddling against me.
She fell asleep in my arms, and it was hard to move her without waking her up, but I managed to slide her under the covers so I could lay down next to her.

The next morning, I woke up to Hanna laying on top of me kissing down my chest.
"Babe?"
"Shh," She whispered back.
I flipped her over and kissed her lips with force as her hands pulled my head towards her so my lips crashed against hers with even more force.

Later that evening, we went to the school to enroll. We decided we'd spend senior year in Colorado. I mean, obviously Hanna was disappointed that Lily wasn't there, and we considered buying a place and inviting Lily to move in.
"Kale Mathews," I told the lady at the front desk of the school.
I could faintly hear Hanna talking to the other lady in the back of the room.
"Hanna Lanc--" I heard her say before her voice was faded out by the lady I was talking to.
"You both aren't residents of Colorado. Unless you can get an adult to sign--"
I could hear the lady Hanna was talking to. She was saying the same things.
"--these papers then you two cannot attend--" I heard her saying, as if on cue.
I turned back to the lady sitting in front of me.
"--this high school."
"Thank you, I know someone who can sign this. Can you just give us a minute?" I questioned.
She smiled and nodded in agreement. I pulled out my cell phone and dialed the numbers that I was now well familar with.
"Hello?" The voice asked.
"Kayla, I need a favor--"
