I sat in the waiting room, staring at my phone. Kale's parents were already on their way, and Brent and Nicole were coming with. My grandma and Callie were going to fly in tomorrow morning, and Ryan and Skye were coming in an hour. Mia was already on her way, but she was stuck in traffic.

"Miss Lanceman?"

I jumped up from my seat, shoving my phone back into my pocket.

"Kale, is he OK?"

"I'm sorry he died a few minutes ago."

"He-He-He's dead?"

"I'm sorry,"

"Kale!" I jolted awake.

"Hanna?" A familiar voice whispered.

"Is he dead?" I mumbled.

"I don't know," Mia whispered, sitting down in the chair next to me.

"Miss Lanceman?"

Oh god, just like the dream.

"Kale, is he OK?"

Oh god.

"Well, he's in stable condition as of now. You can go see him if you'd like."

"Ohmygod!" I screamed, pushing the heavy door open.

The door swung open and there was Kale, smiling at me. His beautiful, piecing eyes. His award-winning smile.

"Kale," I whispered, tears dripping down my face.

"You're OK, right? What happened to our arm?"

That was just like Kale. He always put everyone else first.

"Kale, shut up," I laughed, "I'm fine. But, are you OK?"

"I guess, they really haven't told me anything."

"Oh thank god! I love you Kale," I mumbled, pressing my lips against his forehead.

He laughed, "I love you too, baby."

After a while of just sitting and talking and laughing, which felt incredible to do, the doctor came in.

"I need to talk to both of you,"

"Uh-oh." I mumbled.

Kale sqeezed my hand.

"We just got some test results back. Kale, I'm afraid you have internal bleeding, which could be fatal."

"But, it isn't." I whispered.

"Yet. But, it's not showing any signs of stopping. We can do surgery."

"When?"

"Now."

"Like, right now?"

"Like, this second."

"And?"

"And, the surgery has some risks,"

"All of them do," Kale stated.

"Kale, this is serious." I groaned.

"I just want you to smile. I'm going to be OK."

"And what if you're not?"

"I will be," He smiled at me.

"Kale," I whispered, but the doctor cut me off.

"Kale, do you want the surgery?"

"No."

I grabbed his arm and looked at him.
