Kissing In Colorado: The First Day In Our New School [5]

I followed close behind Hanna as she tugged at the large wooden doors. They swung open to reveal a long clean hallway lined with lockers on either side. There were tons of students laughing and talking and hugging. That was typical for the first day back to school after a long summer vacation. This was it. This was the first day in our new school.

Hanna walked through the hallway, and all eyes quickly fell on her. Then, they all snapped up to me, and the girls all gave flirty smiles. Oh god. I don't like where this is going. We heard whispers, 'he's hot!' or 'wow, he's sexy!'. I slung my arm over Hanna's shoulder to show that I was clearly taken by the most amazing and beautiful girl in the world, but that only lead to the death stares that followed Hanna around all day.

"Han, you gonna be OK?"

"Yeah, I should be." She smiled as she gathered up the rest of her books and walked towards her first period class.

"OK, I'm going to go to my locker. I'll see you at lunch?"

"Sure. You going to come by my locker before lunch so we can walk together?"

"Of course, beautiful." I smiled at her and turned to go the opposite way.

We didn't have first period together. Unfortunately, we didn't have any classes together until after our 7th period lunch. After lunch, we had 8th and 9th period together, so I guess that was a good way to end the day. I watched over my shoulder to see a girl run to catch up to Hanna. They turned the corner, and Hanna gave me a smile to show that she was going to be fine.

I ran up the stairs to my locker. I glanced at the locker numbers, scanning them for 216. When my eyes found 215, I walked over to it.

"Hey man," A tough guy smiled at me.

"Hey, I'm Kale."

"Ryan," He tossed his backpack into his locker and it made a clash.

"You new?"

"Yupp,"

"You'll have a lotta fun. Football tryouts are next week, you should totally do it."

"Eh, I'll think about it."

"You'll get all the chicks,"

"Thanks man, but I already have a girlfriend."

"Where from?"

"We're both from Colorado, but her parents were killed so she's staying with me."

"Ahh, so she goes here?"

"Yeep,"

"That's pretty awesome!"

"Yeah, I guess. You'll have to meet her sometime."

"For sure, where are you going?"

"First period? Mr. Tames."

"Awesome, me too. Let's go,"

I followed the guy down the hallway, and we turned into a classroom. We dropped our books on the desks and walked out again. We still had 15 minutes before class started. A few other guys walked up.

"Ry! There you are!" One of them called out.

"Hey guys, this is Kale. Kale, this is Matt, Josh, and Sam."

"Hey," they all answered in unison.

"Mr. T?" Ryan asked.

"Yupp" they all answered.

We walked back into the classroom, and we all sat in the back, talking.

"Imma go see my girlfriend, Skye. I'll be right back." Ryan smiled, and he snucked out of his seat.
