Chapter 7:
"Kale! Watch out!"
I turned the wheel, but it was too late.
Chapter 8: Ohmygod, he's dead!
I was thrown forward from the impact as the other car crashed into ours. I didn't see what happened to Kale, but the car was totaled, and I was terrified. I opened my eyes slowly, blinking a few times as the scene came into focus. The car was dented, another car still smashed into the side. I looked down and noticed a huge cut on my arm. I couldn't really feel it though, even though I was bleeding profusely.
"Kale," I tried to scream, but my voice was dry and crackly, and barely any sound came out.
After a few seconds of looking around, I realized what I should have been the first thing I noticed, I was laying on the cold, dry pavement. The black pavement was stained red, and shattered glass was lying all around me, making it impossible for me to move. I was only a foot or so away from Kale's car. The windshield was shattered and because of the huge airbag, I was unable to see Kale.
I was lying on the cold ground in a puddle of blood. My arm started hurting, and I couldn't help the tear from slipping from my eye. I couldn't get up, and I was bleeding. I'm going to die here, I thought. That's when I saw him. No, it wasn't Kale. Although, more than anything, I wish it was.
"Don't move honey," He comforted, pulling out his cell phone, "There's been an accident. Passenger was thrown from one of the cars, neither driver has moved from the car!"

The medic finished wrapping my arm. I was sitting on the back of the ambulence, my legs hanging over the edge. They had checked me out, and amazingly, I only had that one cut, and I didn't have any head or neck injuries.
"There you go, Hanna."
"Thank you," I mumbled weakly.
My eyes were fixed on the damaged cars that laid in front of me. The firefighters were still trying to free Kale from the front seat. The other driver was trapped in his car, but the police officers were able to un-attach the car door fairly easily, and he was released. He didn't have a fucking stratch on him. Hewas drunk. He swirved into our lane. And now, I don't know if Kale's alive, but that thing can walk away without any injuries? Life wasn't fair.
"Ma'am, is there someone we should call about his condition?"
At first, the words went right over me. Then, after the man snapped his fingers in front of my face and repeated it, it took a few seconds for me to comprehend.
"Is he OK?" I finally asked, my voice shaky.
"Ma'am, who can we call?"
"I'm his girlfriend. You have to tell me!"
"Ma'am."
"I'll call everyone."
"You sure?"
"Please just make sure he's OK."
"Ma'am--"
"Ohmygod, he's dead!" I cried as they lifted Kale's lifeless body from the smashed car.
"He's--"
"He's dead!" I cried out again.
Tears poured down my cheek, and I pulled out my cell phone.
"Call his parents, first. 'Mr. and Mrs. Matthews', that's what it's under in my phone. Then call 'Kayla', she's his biological mother, but she hasn't known him for more than a few weeks, so start with his parents. They live in California, but they'll fly out here. And, then call you call my Grandma. It's just under 'Grandma'. Thank you," I mumbled, handing him the phone.
My throat was so dry, and my voice was caught in the back of my throat. I'm surprised that I was even able to speak, let alone put together coherent sentences. I watched as they lived Kale's body into a different ambulence. The sirans switched on, the ambulence doors slammed closed, and the ambulence took off into the distance. And, all I could do what stare at it as it left. I saw his body. He was dead.
ahhh, i'm sorry! i'm sorry!!!!! more tonight, I PROMISE! <3
