Sid looked at Karan with a questioning gaze and then realised why he said that. "Karan bro, i-it's fine. Nothing happened, okay? Yo, chill!", Sid made his signature yo hand style and gave his serial killer smile to which Karan gave a his serial killer death glare.

"Okay, fine. See,", Sid started off and explained the entire conversation to Karan. "But one thing I don't get is why does Sanju call Rehaan, ex-hubby? Shouldn't it be late husband?", Sid asked. "No. It is ex-husband.", Karan replied while tears glistened in his eyes confusing Sid all the more. "Rehaan, Adi, and I worked together. We had got a case of Hridik and his parents.", Karan started off. "But Rehaan wanted to handle this case and anyways Adi and I were already busy with the sex trafficking case so we mutually agreed.", Sid interrupted Karan, "Wait, Hridik Ganju?"

"I don't know. We didn't see the details of the case and after Rehaan's death, that file remained hidden somewhere, with someone he trusted the most. His wife, ex-wife actually.", Karan replied. "Which means Sanju?", Sid asked to which Karan nodded. "Yes, Adi and I tried hard to find Sanjana, but we couldn't find her. I knew Sanju for a long time, but I wasn't sure if she was the Sanjana that Rehaan talked about. I never interacted with Sanjana through Rehaan since we never actually found time. While I interacted with Inspector Dubey only professionally so anyways I couldn't find out.", Karan explained.

"So, now? I still don't understand why it's Ex and not late.", Sid asked. "Because Rehaan died while cracking the case.", Karan answered. "H-how?", Sid asked baffled by the revelation. Sid knew that Rehaan died in Delhi, but he didn't know that he died while cracking the case of Hridik. "Hridik was the son of a rich businessman. He got Rehaan killed.", Karan replied in short. Sid paused for a moment absorbing the information.

Karan decided to continue, "Rehaan was extremely injured in Delhi while investigating about the case. We got the information first. We reached there, he handed us some important papers on which he signed in front of us, they happened to be divorce papers. The divorce between Rehaan and Sanjana. Rehaan already knew this case was dangerous, he had arranged those papers on the second day of the investigation. He wanted Sanjana to move on, he felt that Sanjana never loved him and was with him because she was married to him. He wanted Sanjana to find her true love.

We reached the hospital while Rehaan's operation was going on, Sanjana reached there just before we got the information of Rehaan's death. Adi and I had given those papers to a ward boy there who passed them to Sanjana while we had left to find the case file. Sanjana must have signed them since we got the news from the court that the divorce was accepted. We found a note from Rehaan that the file was in safe hands, with someone he trusted more than himself. Which obviously meant Sanjana."

"So technically Ex since the divorce happened before Rehaan died.", Sid concluded. Karan nodded still reminiscing the death scene of their teammate cum brother. "I want those case details. If not the file, at least the case details.", Sid pleased desperately. Karan looked shocked, "Why?"

"Please?", Sid asked pleading. "Ok-okay. Chill. Wait, I'll see from the mails in the trash and then forward the details to you, okay?", he replied. "Th-thank you. But, you put the details of the case because of which your teammate died in the trash?", Sid asked. "We couldn't investigate. Rehaan asked that as his last wish. And we Indians, we cannot ignore that sentimental promise.", Karan shrugged while Sid chuckled.

Karan got out of the room and then started to walk off towards his room. Since he was busy looking into the phone for the mail he collided with Ramesh, the caretaker. "Ah. Sorry.", Karan apologised. Ramesh bent down to pick up a prescription. "No, problem! Seems like you were searching for something important, huh?", Ramesh asked while folding the paper back into his pocket. "Yes, indeed.", Karan replied in short. "But a prescription? Are you okay?", Karan asked casually though internally he was a little concerned for an unknown reason. "Uh- haan. Yes. This is a prescription for my father. He takes this medicine for heartburn. Actually my mother owned a chemist shop. She was a genius in chemicals so I brought this from that shop only. Now I own it so...", Ramesh replied. The two nodded and parted ways.
