Everyone turned around to see Ramesh's father, lying on the ground with his hand on his chest while he tried to say something inaudible to them. Karan being the fastest to respond went near him and heard him whispering, "Recreation is the key, the right one is the wrong."
Before he could explain any further, the old man released his last breath while Karan swore, "F*ck! He was the last one who could help us, they all died.", he passed his fingers through his hair frustrated while the rest absorbed whatever they heard, understood, comprehended and saw. And then, suddenly, they heard,
🎶Yeah..
Dekh tera rang saawla hua baawla
Ladki nahi tu hai garam maamla
Bolti band meri, kahun kya bhala
Kuchh bhi kaha nahi jaaye
Kya naache tu Dilli
Hile hai London
Matak matak jaise Raveena Tandon
Aag lagaane aayi hai ban-than
Goli chal gayi dhaayn
Nakhre vilayti, ego mein rehti
Nakhre vilayti ego mein rehti tashan dikhati full
Arrey ladki beautiful, kar gayi chull
Chull chull chull..🎶Everyone glared at Sid who was struggling with his phone, "Sorry, a lot of scenes withdifferent backdrop music happened today so maybe the app got confused and played the party song, sorry.", he said while trying to stop the music. "Siri, play a bhajan.", Adi commanded and the bhajan was played while Karan just sighed.
"Let's go back guys. We can get back here after some much needed break, hmm?", Sona said looking at the visibly angry, tired, hurt, confused and lost faces around her. Everyone took a cold breath and nodded. Everyone turned to see something written in blood read beside Ramesh's father's body as well.
PALLAKSHI.
"How is this possible now?", Karan asked to himself, and well, everyone else around him as well. "Just a few minutes ago, there was no sign here what so ever and now someone has written Pallakshi here out of no where?", Karan asked confused and irritated. "If anyone would have entered we would have heard their footsteps in this empty corridor as evey voice echoes here!", Adi said.
The moment he said that everyone's eyes went on Sid's phone, "The party song! It wasn't an accident. Adi, take Sid's phone and get it checked right now.", Karan order but Adi replied back, "We don't have tech expert on immediate duty right now in Jhansi. It will take minimum of 30 minutes for the phone to reach till the tech expert and then then 30 minutes for scanning the phone. Till then we'll lose connection of the virus, tracking or whatsoever the phone had.", Adi informed while Karan just kicked the side table beside him.
"Still send this phone to the expert now, we don't have an option.", he said while Adi nodded. They were about to go when Karan stopped, "Monami and Sanjana, carefully take the samples of blood through which this word Pallakshi has been written, I want the report as soon as possible. I know you both are tired but I need it urgently.", he said while Monami and Sanjana understood the urgency and motive and nodded.
Everyone left and even Monami and Sanjana had collected the blood samples and forwarded it to a friend of theirs who had her own lab for such purposes.
However, none of them noticed, that when Karan had kicked the side table beside him, a camera, a microphone and some fresh magnesium oxide and fallen out of the space between the wall and the side table.
***
Tired by the happenings of the day, Karan had fallen asleep the moment he laid on his bed. Ten minutes later, he started getting flashes of all he had experienced in Jhansi, from the terrace scene, to the interrogation, to these murders, the code Pallakshi constantly flashed before his eyes. He didn't realised that in all of this tension, anxiety and stress he again started to see the airplane scene of his family dying and his sister dying years later flashing before his eyes. He was sweating and breathing heavily by then.
