Yi Mari had no one, so it wasn't a surprise when she stepped out of the prison that she was housed in for the last 5 years no one was there to pick her up, she looked to her left to see her best friend and cellmate, Ji-yeong standing next to her. Mari blushed before pushing a lock of hair behind her ears. "So, now that we're finally free. What do you want to do?" Ji-yeong asks, Mari gulped and shrugged, they didn't have a place to go after this. Mari certainly didn't have any money and she wasn't sure if Ji-yeong had any money. "I don't know, do we have enough money to eat? To even have a place to stay?" Ji-yeong stuck her hand in her pocket and pulled out a handful of won, Mari could her counting them as they walked away from the prison, Mari felt like she should look back one last time but kept walking. "I have enough for some food at 7/11 and a one-night stay at a cheap hotel, after that. I'm not sure what we can do." Ji-yeong gave Mari a sad smile but Mari brushed her off.
"Hey, that's tomorrow's problem. And I don't think we will be paying for the food." Mari winks at Ji-yeong in an act of bravery, Ji-yeong lets out a gasp putting a hand over her heart in mock offense but Mari knew the girl was only joking. "I'm glad we're on the same page, I wasn't planning on using this money to pay for the food." Ji-yeong gives Mari an identical wink which made Mari's stomach do a flip. But before any one of them could say something they came upon a 7 eleven, Mari sighed before pushing the sleeves of her jacket down and zipping it closed. "You've done this before so what do I need to do?" Ji-yeong asks before they can walk into the store. "Just keep the clerk distracted," Mari instructs before going inside and going to another part of the store, she watched the door slightly as Ji-yeong walks straight up to the clerk and starts to talk about something with them.
Mari lets out a breath before glancing at the security camera, she knew she had to be careful or they would be caught and end up in jail, again. She walks over to the refrigerator section, her stomach growls slightly as she looks at the various Samgak Gimbaps, she hums quietly before picking up to and sneakily putting them in her pockets, she doesn't look at the security camera because that would give her away. She walks a little bit more until she is upon the Dosirak's, she knows it would be a little bit harder to grab she knows that she can do it. Mari grabs the smallest one before lifting the end of her jacket and putting it in there patting it making sure it stays.
Glancing at the door Mari nods before slowly darting towards the door quickly when someone is walking in so the bell doesn't bring attention to Mari walking out of the store, Mari sits down on the bench outside and grabs one of the tuna Samgak Gimbaps before unwrapping it, she knew that Ji-yeong wouldn't mind because Mari is betting that she's hungry as well. "Hi, I had to buy these waters so the clerk wouldn't be suspicious, what did you get?" Ji-yeong asks looking behind her towards the 7/11 that they just came out of, they were far enough away that no one would be able to hear them, and to be honest Mari didn't think that anyone cared. "I got a Dosirak and two Samgak Gimbaps, one is tuna which I'm eating right now and the other is pork belly." Mari gently placed her half-eaten Samgak Gimbap on her lap before handing Ji-yeong the other one and grabbing the Dosirak from her jacket to show her as well. "Nice, we'll for sure have to replenish but this should keep us through the day I think."
Ji-yeong gently grabs the Samgak Gimbap offered to her, the action caused their fingers to touch which caused Mari's stomach to do a little flip but in order to shut herself up she stuffed her Samgak Gimbap in her mouth and munches on it so she can't spill anything to Ji-yeong. So they didn't waste the water that Ji-yeong had to buy, they just decide to share one bottle to save the other for another time. "So I was thinking after this we go to the hotel that's over there, I saw on a flyer that the rooms are 13,682 won, do we have enough?" Mari asks after she finishes her food.
Ji-yeong paused eating before grabbing the crumpled-up bills and handing them to Mari so she can make sure. Mari hummed watching Ji-yeong eat out of the corner of her eyes, she folds the bills and places them in her pocket knowing that she was trusted enough by Ji-yeong but Mari didn't trust herself but she didn't know any gambling spots nearby she assumed she was safe for now. "We have enough, we might have enough for two nights but we'll need to get more money tomorrow." Ji-yeong stands up and dusts her fingers off onto her pants once she's finished eating, she balls up the packing that the food was in before holding her hand out, Mari looked at her confused before her eyes glanced at the packaging in her hand. "Oh, right here." Mari took out her own crumbled packaging handing it to Ji-yeong so she can dispose of it when they get to the hotel.
"Not to be sappy but I'm glad that I got you to go along with me," Ji-yeong admitted as the two of them were walking towards the hotel. "Well." Mari coughed and hid her face so Ji-yeong couldn't see the blush. "I'm glad I have you too, I don't know if I could've done it without you." The two of them knew that Mari was talking about surviving those 5 years in prison together but none of them mentioned it, Ji-yeong just smiled instead of replying and they continued walking, in silence.
