THE BLARING SOUND OF AN INTRUSIVE ALARM woke you up from your deep slumber. Your head ached as you tried to massage it, trying to relive some of the tension. As you tried to acquaint your eyes with your surroundings, you realized that you weren't in your room nor your house, for that matter.

Where were you? And before you could slip out of bed, someone grabbed your arm. That was odd. Maddy never tried to cuddle, nor did you guys have time to; Mia, your daughter, was always up before you had the time.

Curiosity gripped you as you stared back at your wife. You quickly snatched your hand back as the woman accompanying you in the bed was not Maddy; it was someone else. Light blonde hair swayed as the mystery woman shook her head. Different strands of dark and light yellow caught the sunlight as the woman rose from the bed. She awoke suddenly from your abrupt action.

"Hmm. what's going on?" The blonde asked. And for the first time since waking up next to her, you saw her face. And her body. And, wow, you thought as you stared at her. You were taking in every curve and dimple she had.

The mystery woman rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as she stretched her aching body. She did not seem bothered by your presence at all. Her breasts were out for display, and your eyes locked on it unconsciously. Her perky nipples stood up from the cold air that washed through her body.

"Good morning." She murmured to you, sleep still evident in her voice. Her hand reached over and caressed the side of your face, finger playing with the edge of your jaw. You're so pretty." She mumbled quietly as she stared deeply into your eyes.

For a moment, you got lost in her eyes, their warmth—a nice contrast to the loathing and emptiness of Maddy's. Nothing else resided in the world at that moment. It was just her and you. But then, suddenly you remembered your family. The smile that you had on your face suddenly turned. This was a nice escape, but that's all it is—an escape. You have a family that you love. You can't do this to them.

"Listen, I time we should talk-" But before you could finish your thought, a knock boomed through the bedroom door followed by a voice. "Breakfast is ready, Cassie. Your friend is welcome too."

Cassie, so that's her name. Her name certainly suited her. Her aura screamed refinement and gentleness. "Are you hungry? You already spent the night; you can spend a few more hours here, yeah?"

Your mind instantly tried for a liable excuse, but your heart had already made an answer for you. It shocked you how easy it is for you to forget your family. The family you built and begged to make. But everyone needed a break, right? At least, that's what you tried to tell yourself as you let Cassie lead you downstairs.

You don't know what you were expecting when Cassie led you downstairs. You honestly thought that you were about to meet her roommates or friends, but what you were not expecting was to meet her family. Cassie's family didn't mind you; they treated you like any regular friend. Did they even know what happened last night? Because you were undoubtedly sure, friends don't wake up to each other naked in the same bed.

A hand on your cheek brought me out of your overwhelming thoughts. "Are you alright? Is this too much?" Cassie asked you blankly. Still, her eyes gave her away too much. The depth in them made you gulp down your thoughts. "No, no, no. this is fine. I'm just a bit... confused," you said, with the last part being said quietly.

The hand Cassie had placed on your cheek moved as her gaze left yours. "Oh." She said quietly as she looked around the table. Everyone was busy doing their own thing. You were glad for everyone's own agenda. You didn't need these strangers to think you were an asshole, even though you probably are

Just as you were about to stand up to use the bathroom to call Maddy, someone asked you to sit back down. "Nice to see you again. Cassie here has been gushing about you since she visited Santa Monica last week."
