"You look horrible."

"Wow, Amy, that is the harshest thing you have ever said to Jeno." Hakim sneers at her.

Scoffing, she waved him off and states, "I don't mean that, I meant mentally... Like it's really showing up on yourself, Jen." She says at the end, in a more concerned manner.

"So it's still showing on his appearance making him look horrible. How rude." Hakim quips whilst munching on his donut.

"Stop twisting my words you bitch!" Amy hisses, "look, I'm not trying to be rude here and bringing up... Flashbacks," she whispers for a minute.

"But you look tired, that you have bags under your eyes, a little pale and basically making it horrible."

When Hakim opens his mouth to say something about her choice of words, his girlfriend beside him pinches his waist, easily shutting him up.

"She's basically saying you're not looking alright today, not yourself, Jen." Patrine softly says.

The brunet boy peers up from his folded arms; a makeshift pillow of his, showing his talked-about tired state.

"I was up all night handling some business, helping some maids clean the house because the others are off duty for understandable reasons."

"Then I had to do some homework because I almost forgot about it, my neighbor's chickens were loud as hell for no reason at the middle of the night."

"Had to get to school early, had to stay awake in History class because our teacher was in a bad mood. Basically, I'm worn out."

"Dang... That's wild." Hakim comments afterwards.

"Well, you could have tried to skip morning classes today and come in at the afternoon." Patrine suggested.

"Yeah but that would mean I would need a slip or an excuse letter signed by my parent or guardian." Jeno replies.

Amy gives him a look and says, "and Smithers is like your guardian, is he not? He can sign it and hand it to the principal or teacher."

Pursing his lips, Jeno shakes his head in disapproval. "I don't think it's worth it or necessary, I'm not even sick, just lacking sleep."

"Jeno, that is still an appropriate reason. Who knows, maybe they will accept it and you could have had some time to catch some sleep in the morning?" Hakim states.

"He's right, your reasons for lacking of sleep is still understandable. It's not like you were up all night playing video games." Amy says in agreement.

Rolling her eyes when she gets a glimpse of Hakim's exaggerated reaction aimed towards her, weirded out in a joking manner.

Since they have always teased each other and agree to disagree, Tom and Jerry I guess.

But now is not the time for those shenanigans, because there wasn't anything to disagree about Hakim's words. Amy knows it.

Patrine places a hand on Jeno's slumped shoulder, "you could still ask for permission at the office and excuse yourself for the rest of the day." She suggested once more.
