𖤈 Chapter Fifty-Eight: Piece of Advice

Late update, I'm sorry but last schedule I was really tired from going out bc we had to buy some things.

"Guess who owes us money~" Amy rolls her eyes accompanied by an annoyed scoff at the smirking couple walking over to them.

She aggressively takes out her wallet before soon handing them 20 bucks each. Fighting the urge to flick Hakim's forehead.

Meanwhile the two of them started bickering for no reason– actually it is just Amy being salty for losing the bet, Patrine turns to Jaemin and Jeno.

"How are you two holding up?" She asks, concerned for their well-being.

After all, she knows how this school– or more specifically, the students– of theirs runs like the back if her hand.

Announcing your relationship publicly can be difficult in general.

With people like the ones she (manages to) tolerates here, some of them can be brutal.

And considering Jeno is very close with her, plus with Jaemin being their new friend as well as not to mention– Jeno's real second boyfriend.

Of course she will be worried.

"We're just trying to ignore it." Jaemin speaks up first with a small sigh.

Patrine nods in understanding, reaching out to pat the blond haired boy's shoulder as a way of comforting him.

"It will die down eventually, a week is a miracle if I'm being honest with you here." She lightly says, "just keep on doing what you both want and ignore the bad people."

"It is nothing really bad so far," Jaemin says, earning him a skeptical look from Patrine as she raises a brow.

"No, seriously. So far, everyone's just gossiping to each other and staring at us. But... Then again, I can't let my guard down can I?"

Shaking her head, Patrine smiles in pity. "Sorry, Jaem. But you really can't if you want to make it out of here alive, or most especially, your relationship."

"Wish it was as easy as you and Hakim's relationship." Jaemin lets out a light chuckle, glancing at the said boy who's sticking his tongue out teasingly at Amy.

Snorting, Patrine makes a 'tsks' noise and says, "it's not as easy as you think."

"Although people are not that surprised considering Hakim and I have known each other for a long time and are seen together a lot, it is still difficult to stay together."

Jeno nods in agreement beside Jaemin, "yeah, rumors never stop flowing. People are bored and jealous," he shrugs his shoulders in nonchalance.

"Some try to break others up, sadly."

"Please, don't get me started with those people trying to threaten me because I "stole" Hakim." Patrine air quotes with her fingers.

Jaemin then raises a brow when he hears Jeno sigh deeply beside him, "what's wrong?" He asks, trying to peek at his boyfriend's face.
