𖤈 Chapter Seventy-Two: Love Sick

"The party was mine." Eyes blown wide as he stares at the elder boy, Renjun purses his lips. "It wasn't anything awfully planned towards you guys, honestly."

"I literally hosted it for fun, Haechan was bugging me about it anyway. Decided to go back to my old ways when... You know." Renjun hesitates to specifically mention his past relationship.

"We didn't know Jeno and his friends were going to be there." Renjun added, and from his voice thanks to being friends with him for years, Jaemin knows he is being honest.

This is the moment both of them will be honest towards each other. No more hiding anything.

"Patrine wasn't in a good state and she needed a getaway, Amy went with her if anything happens... Jeno said Amy called him for backup because Patrine was totally out of it." Jaemin manages to mumble.

Renjun nods briefly as he listens carefully, for once in a long time he isn't interrupting and is actually letting the other person speak, finish their words before assuming.

"Jeno didn't cheat on you." He begins to say, bringing the main problem back that has Jaemin tense up for a reason.

Keeping quiet, Renjun takes that as his cue to continue and tell Jaemin everything.

"I was drunk–"

The first three common words has Jaemin clenching his jaw, an uneasy feeling in him to which Renjun notices but understands.

He guesses negative thoughts are already filling Jaemin's head.

"Haechan and I... We made out–" now this was a shocker to Jaemin. Although he jokes about his two friends ending up together in the future, he didn't expect it to be now.

"It was unexpected, and I'm still confused about it. It was just a messy situation, main point is we shouldn't have been drunk when it happened." Renjun sadly smiles.

"I pulled away first and got emotional– I got scared because it's been a long time since my last love life, I didn't know how it felt and it was just a lot to take in."

"Jeno was in the bathroom where I was headed planning to hide in there. He asked me what was wrong and..."

"Injun?" Jeno's face is full of concern when he opens the door and was face to face with a teary Renjun.

His ex boyfriend looks so fragile right now, it hurts him.

Despite their messed up relationship, they've recently been talking in secret– Renjun begged him to not say anything about their meetups.

Obviously Jeno understands, people will gossip about it immediately. They both want to be more exposed if everything is ok.

Not when it's still a little awkward and in a midst of process.

They've been trying to reconcile since they got paired up with each other. And truthfully, Jeno is so happy to be friends with his ex boyfriend again.
