Jaemin was listening to Renjun's story about something– he didn't really pay attention honestly. "Can you not overthink about sending him a message?"

Snapping him out of his thoughts, he fumbles to hide his phone back in his jean pocket as if he was caught by a strict teacher in class.

"I wasn't–"

"You literally stared at Jeno's contact and hesitated to type something." Renjun points out with a blank look, his monotone making Jaemin cringe.

"Was it that obvious?"

"Really obvious, babe." They both snap their heads up to see Jeno's friends. Amy smiling teasingly.

Jaemin opens his mouth to say something but got beat by Patrine. Already knowing him well enough to sense he was going to start rambling his defense between him and Jeno.

"We know what happened, he told us." Surprisingly she smiles sweetly, to which Renjun fails to hide his confusion as he rarely sees her like this.

"Just to reassure you, we're not mad. Just... Disappointed." Hakim sheepishly scratches his nape as if he was the one on the spot instead of Jaemin.

"I know... And I'm really sorry about that." Jaemin couldn't stop apologizing, even to Jeno's friends whom he knows cares for him a lot and can be defensive.

He understands, Jeno did nothing wrong. But was just accused of badly.

And Jaemin made the mistake Jeno has warned him since the beginning; He assumed and believed the rumors too quickly before finding out the whole story.

"You made the same mistake as I did, Jaem." Renjun has told him after their discussion. "But you're more lucky as you still have a chance to fix this, he gave you a chance because you realized straight away."

"Your ego is not as high as mine thanks to him. So all I can tell you is to not throw this away, because I know for sure he would never do that unless you're the one who breaks it off."

Being supportive yet also pointing out Jaemin's obvious mistake; to which he is thankful for, he doesn't want the elder boy to sugar coat it.

Jaemin tries so hard to be patient, but as mentioned before, it's hard to wait.

Amy hugs him, giving comfort and reassurance that it will all be okay. "Both of you just need a breather from all of this, especially the gossips." She mumbles against his shoulder.

"Yeah, he was already stressing out about them at the party. He knew it would happen– just didn't expect... You know..." Renjun nods in agreement.

Jaemin harshly rubs his face with his hands, a groan escaping his lips. "No wonder," muttering under his breath as he feels a gentle pat on his head.

"It's okay, Jaem. He knows you didn't mean to." Hakim tells him. All he received was a small nod in defeat. "Don't give up, lad."

"Yeah, as far as I know, he feels bad about it too." Amy spoke up, "he asked me if what he decided was too harsh or being dramatic."
