"Do you want to tell me what you see? Like tracks if there's any?" You've both been running around for hours now, with not much word from Daryl.

He didn't really acknowledge you for that, so you just huffed and kept following him. You couldn't help but think about what happened in the prison again. How we weren't even concerned about the walkers anymore...

Those people from Woodbury meant absolutely nothing to Philip. And those people he was with, they had no clue who he was yet they threw away their own lives for him.

"Hey." Daryl suddenly stopped you and you didn't realize you've been in a daze.

You look around at the sight of a graveyard. But not the graveyard you were used to now, this was from before, with headstones.

"Why are we here?" You asked as you start reading the names and messages on the grave.

"It's getting dark, let's check there." Daryl puts an arm around you and stared at what you're reading.

A loving husband, father and friend.

"We didn't even get to bury him..."
You were starting to break from remembering Hershel's death.

Daryl hugs you and you thought you saw tears in his eyes too. You both walked slowly to the direction of the house, keeping close to each other.

=================

"What are you doing?" You slightly chuckled as Daryl laid down on the coffin.

"Comfiest bed I've had in a while." He replied with one eye open.

The house turned out to be a funeral home, and it was actually stocked with food. Unfortunately there was no sign of the owner being around for a while now.

You walk up to the coffin and stayed near Daryl's head. You start brushing away the hair that covered his face, softly touching his cheeks.

Daryl relaxed to the feeling of your hands on his cheek, leaning into it and sighing. You were starting to lean down to kiss him when he sat up to meet your lips. You break the kiss to look at his eyes and saw the look of fear and love at the same time.

You understand how he felt at the moment, specially after losing so many people that fast.

You closed your eyes and kissed him again, not wanting to get lost in thought. His hand moving to rest on your waist, lightly pulling you to him every now and then. While the other rubbed your arm and touched your cheeks.

It all felt so peaceful, and you didn't want to stop until you both jumped at the sound of the cans ringing outside.

Both trying to catch your breath, you looked at each other and decided to check.

"Walker?" You whispered as Daryl tried to see from the window.

"Don't know, I can't see...ready?" He looks back at you, ready to open the door.

You hold your knife ready and nodded at him to open it.

...a dog.

"Hi...come here boy, yeah come on, hey no-" You failed to get the dog inside as it got scared when you tried to pet it.

"It's fine, he'll come back." Daryl said as he closes the door and went back to holding me close.

"Yeah, maybe... You think maybe the old owner used to feed him?" You asked, since it was weird how the dog even waited for the door to open. Usually animals would run at the sight of anything that looks like a human now, strange.

"Possible, let's get some sleep." He pulls you back to the room and decided to stay on the couch instead.

Sitting beside each other you were a bit taken aback when he pulls you to straddle him.

"Sleep huh?" You laughed at this, almost forgetting all your problems at the moment.

"After..." He whispered as you lean down and kiss him back.

Things were getting heated again when the sound of the cans outside alerted you two again.

"Just the dog, stay." He said as you tried to get off him.

"I'd love to stay where I am, but what if it's not the dog?" You asked worried.

Daryl grunts in disappointment as he lets you stand up. You chuckled and went with him to the door.

He was about to open it, expecting nothing else but the dog from earlier, when you notice the smell and the tall shadows on the window.

"Daryl, wait!- shit-" you yelled too late and Daryl tried to close it back but the deads' arms made it impossible.

"Go! Get out the back door, I'll lure them away!"

"No! Let me help, you hold it I'll get them from outside! When they go after me you get the ones by the door, I'll be back."

"Y/N wait!" He didn't like the plan but you were already running to go outside.

You didn't have any gun but Daryl can help after the weight is off the door. You get outside only to find walkers already getting in.

"Shit."

You started stabbing and kicking a few more that weren't inside yet and followed the others inside. Killing the ones inside were slightly faster as they were too busy chasing after what's in front.

You got another by the back of its head when you lost grip of your knife and it fell along with the walker you just killed.

This caught the attention of two walkers in front of this one and you couldn't pull the knife out so you had to turn back.

You found one of the knife from the kitchen and as the two walkers entered the kitchen, you kick the table towards them and stabbed them as they tried to reach you.

You fall back on your ass after pulling the knife out of the other walker and you see another about to lunge at you. You brace yourself while on the floor when you see Daryl stab it in the head with his arrow.

You drop the knife panting, looking up at Daryl.

"I said hold the door, damn." You said in between breaths.

"You alright?" Daryl holds out his hand for you which you gladly took, and he did a quick scan to see if anything got you.

"Yeah, thanks..."
