Before you knew it, it was Saturday. One week. You'd been married to Chris for a week. Every day, you got to know him better and better. You shared many laughs and late nights, talked about your favorite books, movies, favorite genre of music. The two of you were nowhere near the life of love and happiness that your mother predicted, but you were friends. And that was a start.

Chris immediately fired the security team that had their guns in your face, even though you told him it was okay. He let you know it would probably take a few months to gather a team that he could trust, but that they crossed a line with you, and because of that, they had to go.

Even only knowing Chris for a short amount of time, you could tell that there was no arguing. His decision had already been made.

Ever since your conversation with Chris about your mother's expectations of you, you stopped getting up so early. Chris insisted that you stop setting an alarm and just wake up whenever you wanted, but getting up and at least starting breakfast for him gave your days a little bit of purpose.

Lack of security also meant he was around more. You'd started eating dinner together every night and with the help of Gina, Chris's housekeeper and cook, you were slowly learning his favorite recipes.

Though, you weren't a fan of his 'routine' so to speak, so you were definitely going to have to switch the menu up a little.

Today, you had a plan. You were starting to get a tad stir crazy and thanks to the phone Chris had set up for you and your new best friend, Google, you'd found out about a carnival happening in town and were planning to ask Chris on a date.

You were going to ask your husband on a date.

To get to know him.
