TWELVE. . .

the next morning, nyx woke up, feeling off. it felt like all life was going too fast, and they couldn't keep up.

"everything okay, love?" rue asked, concern written all over her face.

"i don't know, i don't feel too good."

"physically or mentally?"

"physically."

"what's something wrong right now?"

"my heart is beating so fast, holy shit, i can't even keep up with anything, it's all i'm focused on."

rue bit her lip anxiously. last night, they had screamed and yelled and squealed over nyx's day with sapnap. this, was not any of those things.

"maybe you should take the day off and go check up at the doctors, okay?" nyx nodded, all of their face drained with any color.

"call me if you need anything, okay love? i'll be right there."

nyx pushed the glass door open, their whole body feeling drowsy.

they just couldn't have one day, could they?
