That night Marlene was sitting on her new bed with her wand right next to her. She quickly picked it up and pointed it at the door as it opened

No one walked in but she heard, "I'm a friend. Don't blast me."

Mrs Hudson then walked around the door with a tray, "How did you know?" Marlene asked

"Instinct. I also figured that you wouldn't be able to sleep so I brought biscuits." Mrs Hudson said as she sat down on the end of the bed, "Don't look so shocked. Yes I'm being nice it's not a new thing."

Marlene paused before she said, "You know magic very well right?"

Mrs Hudson nodded, "I should hope so or I'm in the wrong job."

"Do you know side effects of uh...of the Cruciatus?" Marlene asked, "Because I can't remember things and I don't know if it's because of that."

Mrs Hudson looked up at her, "What in the name of Merlin happened to you?...Luna, please. Take your time but you have to tell me."

"I was locked up because of what I am um...I-I was hurt because of it and it left me a bit...foggy on some things." Marlene said

Mrs Hudson nodded, "Okay...okay like what? What's foggy for you? Let it out, talk to me that's what I'm here for."

"I can't cast a Patronus because I can't remember what my memory was and I can't think of another good one...I can't remember where I went for full moons, I know who I was with I just don't know where I was. I don't...I don't know what's happening to me." Marlene said

Mrs Hudson saw that she was getting upset so she moved onto the end where Marlene was and sat next to her, "Listen to me carefully. Cruciatus is a nasty thing. It takes away parts of you, the good parts are harder to remember and the bad parts are easier. Some days you're not going to want to move and others it will be like it never happened. But you'll get through it because you already have. You're alive. You survived it, so you can do it again."

"You sound like you're speaking from experience." Marlene said as she put her head on Mrs Hudson's shoulder

Mrs Hudson sighed and said, "I was born in 1932 I am 65 years old, which means I was a part of the war against Gellert Grindlewald and I was in the First Wizarding War. You can trust that I know what I'm talking about...from experience."

"I got them killed." Marlene said

Mrs Hudson looked down, "Got who killed?"

"My pack. They gave themselves up to save me and they killed them, right in front of me, right in front of everyone and I couldn't stop them...I hurt people. I hurt the people I care about."

"Yes people get hurt, people die, but we learn from it. Everything that happens to us we learn from it...Now what kind of day are you having good or bad? If it's good then we can go down and see the others if it's bad I can stay here or I can send Maisy up she's good with people." Mrs Hudson said

Marlene paused before she said, "Good...I think, I mean I don't feel like there's a hive of bees in my skull if that's what a good day feels like."

Mrs Hudson, "That means it's a good day. We can work on getting your memory back at the same time I teach you glamour magic. Come on."

Just then they heard a crash, "Oh for the love of Merlin. That would be Mike. You know that boy looks strong but he's more emotional than anyone I've ever seen...his magic is very explosive and let's say it's boiling over. New Death Eater attack, blast the wall! New murder, punch the wall! Something that doesn't make sense to him...well guess."

"He kicks the wall?" Marlene guessed

Mrs Hudson nodded, "Anytime something annoys him, boom! New hole in my wall. I keep telling him that one day I'm going to make him fix the bloody thing."

. . . . . .

Mrs Hudson and Marlene walked into the living room where there was a a broken coffee table in the middle of the room, "Oh for the love of Merlin, Mike. Your mother has a lot to answer to."

Mike nodded, "I have a list. My brother has a book...sorry there was another attack." Mrs Hudson took out her wand and fixed the coffee table, Mike looked at Marlene, "You look better."

Marlene moved around the sofa and sat down next to a girl with ginger hair, "Look it being the main thing." Marlene said, "Feel it. Not so much."

Another two boys then walked into the room, "What was the crash?"

"That, Ethan, was Mike getting mad at my coffee table. I really ought to have words with his mother." Mrs Hudson said as she walked towards the door and shut it, "Be nice."

Mike looked at her as she walked back into the room, "My mother would hex you...she's very good at that!"

Mrs Hudson sat down and said, "Family is all we have in this world Mike Hunt."

Jax groaned, "Oh do shut up Mrs Hudson."

Maisy, Marlene, Ethan and Mike all looked at him, "Hey!"

"Jax!" Ethan shouted

Jax held up his hands as he said, "Sorry, sorry I just...I'm sorry."

Mrs Hudson stood up and walked behind him, she put her hands on his shoulders, "We're all scared Jax. Let's not take it out on each other. We're family now."
