KEEPING TRUE TO HIS PROMISE TO STEVE, Percy made his way into the little shop to pay for the milkshakes. It certainly felt awkward.
He smiled at the boy, slightly younger than him by the looks of it, standing at the counter waiting for his order.
"How may I help you today?" He beamed at Percy.
Quickly reading his name tag, Percy said, "Ryker, is it? This is embarrassing, I came down here the other day for some milkshakes and completely forgot to pay," He finished off with a shy look.
"Oh, yes. You came during my shift, I just didn't want to make an Avenger pay for something as small as a milkshake. That's okay, you can pay now." Giving Ryker a small smile, Percy proceeded to pay for all three milkshakes.
He stepped out of the shop and into the beautiful sun. He stretched his arms before they fell limp. Goosebumps appeared on his body as he came to a rigid stop.
'I just didn't want to make an Avenger pay for something as small as a milkshake.' Usually, this wouldn't be such a surprising statement but the thing was,
Nobody knew he was a part of the Avengers
-
He didn't know why he was in Steve's apartment with Fury, clearly trying to pretend as if he isn't injured but he was sure it had something to do with the mysterious figure and the shooting that happened today.
He wasn't going to ask him about it because Nicholas Fury had many secrets and would rather die before revealing them to someone, which he seems pretty close to doing, actually.
They didn't try to be very secretive of the fact that they had broken into Steve's place, turning the stereo on, a nice tune playing out of it. A complete misdirect to the situation at hand.
He had gotten a call from Agent Hill, very clearly stating that whatever the Director may ask of him, he had to follow through without any questions asked.
He decided to play along for a while, atleast until Steve came, who definitely would not hold back from questioning.
They heard a window slide open, meaning Steve was back and he knew that they were there. He poked his head, very ready with his shield to defend himself against any sort of attack and then he saw them.
"I don't remember giving you a key." Steve said, a slightly disappointed look. Was it just Percy or is there a certain tension between these two?
"You really think he needs a key to get in?" Percy raised his brow. Steve gave a shrug as if to say, true.
Fury lets out a grunt as he sits up in the armchair, that Percy had to move to a suitable dark corner so Nick Fury could be dramatic. Complete super villain move, he has to say.
