And then you left
I returned home alone
You couldn't come by
Times was of the essenceThe conclusion dissipated in the air
Nor a kiss nor a hug was given
Just a thank you and a "be safe"I dreamt up of a better goodbye
A dream of a better ending
A new beginning
Where I just met you
And words flowed easierWhere you smiled as always
Flirt as always
Sighed as always
Clumsy as alwaysWhere those times alone
Just the two of us
Our phones were off
Our world was us... just a bit longerA moment that could last forever
Where I didn't have to pretend
And tell you they look cute
Where I didn't have to think
"Please look my way too"And that's the funny thing, isn't it?
You do, you do look at me
You check my lips
As I check yoursBut it wouldn't work
Would it?
Your world and mine
Can never collideAnd then you left... to be away with your actual love
It isn't I, could only wish it was I
But rather someone who I can't hate
Have never met and still feel so jealous ofI will still see you often
I will still see you for who you are
I will still wait for you
I will still tryAnd then when it stops
Just as I finish this poem
The feeling dies down
The rain starts to be at peace
And your lips might be mine
Or for the world to enjoy
But so will mine
