She sat at her desk and while working on her latest assignment she heard laughter moving along the passageway that went past her small office. In many ways it taunted her as she tried to remember the last time she'd laughed in such a manner.

Within seconds two young trainees were making their way to her door.

"I got a balloon" the older of the two squealed as she held the string out to the balloon hovering overhead.

"A balloon?" she asked with a grin.

"Yep. My boyfriend stopped in and left it at the front desk with the sweetest card. Do you want to see it?"

Before she could reply the girl was putting the card on the desk in front of her. She smiled.

The card, a simple kitten cuddled up to another, was accompanied with the words 'Love has no age"

The warmth in her heart spread through her as she picked it up to have a better look. All eyes dropped to the desk as a piece of blue paper fell upon it.

"That's not mine" the girl said.

"No" she replied softly "it's... it's mine."

My Dear Josephine,

I wish that for one moment I could hear the lyrical sound of your laughter. To know that you choose to laugh with me would indeed fill me with pride.

Happiness Josephine. Happiness comes to us when we least expect it and it's source, regardless of cost, is priceless.

Until next time my love,

Your very own,

Dear Heart xxx
