He unfolded the pages carefully and reread their words. Each seemed to squeeze yet another grip on him as he wondered with annoyance as to whom Dear Josephine could be. His searches had been fruitless and he was beginning to believe that they were a waste of his time.

His hand passing over his head as he looked had him realising that he woukd have to accept that he may never know who she was. A thought that didn't sit well with him.

A bell sounded to signal that there was five minutes left of their lunch break and with a sigh he packed up the notes and the books he'd taken out to do his research and made his way to the librarians desk. He'd borrow the books and read them at home.

The librarian smiled at him as he handed the books and his library card over for scanning while he looked about the room. He thanked her as the books were handed back and with a gulp he realised that he was seeing a page of a different colour nestled amongst the thickest book. A lilac piece of paper fell to the desk as he quickly opened the cover.

Dear Heart,

I feel I must admit that although it has been mere days, mere hours since I saw you that my heart weeps for you to be by my side.

Alas as we both know, this dream is not to be as yet and I am forced to accept the wait until we look upon one another once again.

Until next time my true love,

Your very own,

Dear Josephine xxx
