The Finalists

"Well, shit. There is a fucking window stuck in your leg Kang Sae-Byeok." Jiyeong exaggerates with a scrunched-up nose. I looked down and damn, she is not wrong. One might mistake that for a window.

Observing made it hurt worse, now that I am aware of the current situation, the pain decided to rush in.

"Ow, pull it out." I breathed in pain. With my eyes squeezed shut, I heard Jiyeong snicker and I looked up to her hanging her head down with a smirk.

  "What?" I asked, confused.

"Um..." She snickered again with her head down. "That's what she said."

I leaned back onto the bedframe in disbelief. She did not just say that I refuse to believe she said that. Something lit up inside of me and I let out a small smile. "Dumbass." I mumbled with a chuckle.

"Aww! Sae-Byeok did I make you smile? I don't even care that you called me a dumbass!" Her smile was so bright it could light up the entire room by itself. My eyes could not seem to move away from the sight no matter how hard I tried.

"Here, do you want me to pull out the glass? It's going to hurt like a bitch." She asked while resting her hand on my leg, next to the glass.

"Yes, just rip it off like a band-aid." I respond with a hint of sarcasm.

"Actually, wait. You're going to cut yourself, let me do it." My body moved up towards the glass, but Jiyeong pushed me gently back down.

"No, let me do it. Have some faith in me." She gripped the glass and looked at me for permission.

"3... 2..." Jiyeong didn't even say one before pulling the glass out, surprising me. And I wasn't wrong, this hurts like shit. She tried to pull the glass out quicker, but it was an extremely slow process, only making it hurt worse. Once the entire piece of glass was out, I held my leg and did anything to make the pain die down a bit.

After a couple seconds of heavy breathing from me, silence took over.

"See, you didn't even feel a thing!" Jiyeong exclaimed with a smile. I have never wanted to murder her so bad. A loud buzzing sound was heard before the main gate opened. A square soldier was in front with three circle soldiers behind them, they were carrying boxes that looked like mini coffins. Thats not intimidating at all.

"We sincerely congratulate and commend you for successfully making it through the five games. You've now become the finalists, and we've prepared a special gift for you. Before we reveal the gift, please change into the outfit we have prepared." The square guard said.

Why the hell are they giving us a gift? Two out of three of us will die anyways.

Jiyeong helped me get up and limp over to the boxes. I pulled it out of the guard's hand and looked over to see Sang-Woo also grabbing it. My eyes shot daggers at him, but I quickly looked away and limped over to the bathroom.
